This is why it makes no sense to not remove the filibuster and get things accomplished. The democrats will do whatever they want regardless of the Republicans' actions. Thinking the softness of conservatives will stop the democrats from going authoritarian is naive.

I actually have no problems with fear of political retribution. Seems to me like a great form of self-policing. Neither side will engage in overt criminal activity if they are afraid of going to jail in two years.

The problem is the Republicans aren't prosecuting, and the Democrats will to an extreme degree. I'm actually not afraid of that either, because at that point the populace will have had enough.

I said this when the Dems started it, we are now a banana republic
