I don't know that Bezos is concerned about monetary ROI on his WaPo purchase, any more than Musk is on his twitter purchase. Nor do I think he was interested in personally going to war with a malignant newsroom. On the contrary, he'll let economics do that. IMO, Bezos believes attrition and associated pressures could aid reshaping WaPo news coverage back toward its heyday under Katharine Graham.

Neither of those approaches seems very good. Just report the news. Nothing needs to be shaped.

You do realize that having the news shape your reporting actually means reporting the actual news or did that go right over your woke head

No one here is surprised. You're the textbook type to be a modern mainstream media journalist.

So why are you so predictably biased here?

The hilarious thing is most of these blatantly leftist liberal journos would tell you with a straight faced "I'm not biased." When we all know that is complete bullshite.

There’s a version of the Modern Major General song to be sung here.

Robert Mann is hardly the guy typifying profs at Columbia School of Journalism, Annenberg, etc. Those are the unfortunate drivers of US "Journalism."

This is a case of people who no one cares to listen to are mad because they aren't listened to. They want a platform to launch their ideas from that nobody cares about.

Instead of inward reflection to what is right, they push aside others ideas and double down. And they wonder why no one cares.

Maybe he should have hired some Conservatives to write for the paper instead of having a bunch of over educate TDS patients run his paper into the ground. He should be more pragmatic like Marc Cuban. I don't necessarily care for him, but I respect him for not allowing his politics to stop him from working with Trump.

The most revered J school is actually one out of the Midwest iirc. Or at least it was when I was plugged into that sort of thing a million years ago.
