That's one point two percent
And here's the kicker. It was the fist time in 3 years that Bezos paid ANY income tax.
Messed up? Maybe. Legal? Yep

How to spot a bullshite article in one sentence...
1/ This isn’t Jeff Bezos personal taxes —though they try to make it appear that way.
2/ The headline says “$13 B in profit” when it’s really $13B in income.
3/ and if deferred —will eventually pay almost $1Billion in taxes on that income.
Good lawd. This is the stupidity we are up against in this country.

Jeff Bezos' sprawling e-commerce empire said it paid $162 million in federal income taxes on $13.3 billion of U.S. pre-tax income, an effective tax rate of 1.2 percent. It deferred more than $914 million in taxes.

Last time I looked, Jeff Bezos is not standing for election to the office of POTUS.
The POTUS needs to release his returns to prove he is right and the NYT is wrong. If he won't release them, most of us will assume he is a tax cheat and a fraud.

How, specifically, did he cheat or defraud the IRS?
If he did nothing illegal, then the true fault lies upon those responsible for the tax codes those years. Wanna take a stab at who that is?

Do you people even understand what the frick the words “cheat” and “fraud” mean? Hint: they don’t refer to things that every single business owner in the country does legally

If you aren't convinced by now that the nyt is FoS and fake news, you never will, and will remain ignorant and hateful the rest of your life.

You do realize that if he actually cheated and committed fraud, he would have been charged by the IRS. Not like they have not audited him a few times. Also, do you think he does his own taxes? Do you think he reviews them or just signs them when put in front f him? Do you think all his businesses are S corps where profits are reported in k1’s and added to personal income tax? The NYT’s article was written for simple minded people with little to no idea how taxes work like yourself. Beat you pay HR Block $250 to fill your 1040ez return.
