Does this mean the liberal feds just approved all liberal BS under Kamala Biden?

Whats JD done about that---more eyeliner?

Speak for yourself.

I can afford health insurance...because I have an employer who pays it. The full cost of the premiums, every year.

You could also, if that was your choice.

You chose your career. For many careers, full health insurance coverage is a typical benefit provided.

illegals under the parole program are eligible for medicaid. Joetato let in millions by abusing this program. None of this is news.

So you understand that the $16.7B in MCO taxes resulted in $9.5B to the state between July 2023 to June of 2025.

Are you arguing that this doesn’t give the state a slush fund to pay for their pet projects

Not a slush fund, that connotes a lot of discretion. But yes, they can use state dollars to match Federal-approved (CMS) uses.

(including illegal immigrant healthcare)?

Correct, I am arguing those funds cannot be used to draw down federal match. They CAN be used for state programs, but the state and locals have to pay for that without federal help (again, emergencies are different).

If this wasn’t the case, then a reduction in federal funding wouldn’t affect coverage for illegals.

Two things affect foreigners.
1. More frequent eligibility checks (Louisiana already does this)
2. A lot of Lawfully Present Immigrants got cut out of Medicaid. I think this is what the Democrats are fighting over (I think, because who really knows their motives)

And if the Dems ARE fighting over Lawfully Present Immigrants, that's just a dumb losing issue for them.

That’s simply not reality for many people. Why doesn’t everyone simply choose great jobs that pay well and lush benefits. Lord

What I don’t get is why the right is trying it’s hardest to make life even harder for the people who are the worst off. Their life is hard and at every turn it’s like people are giddy about pissing on them and doing whatever they can to make it that much harder.

The ACA made it harder on them. The bill is just now coming due.

Are you talking about how expensive Obamacare is? The left designed it like that. Get mad at them.

Because I didn’t make the choices they made(in most cases, not all) so I’m not paying the bill for it, fk em

Success is hard work no doubt, but there’s a sh!t ton of luck that comes with it too. You didn’t pick your parents or where you grew up, you didn’t pick your intelligence or lack thereof, you didn’t pick a support network around you growing up. Yes theres tons of people who make bad decisions for one reason or another (everyone does if we are honest with ourselves), but discounting environmental factors that led to where they are in life is incredibly naive.

Ok so you don’t want to pay for x y and z. The alternative is we become a state with an increasingly desperate population. Huge swaths start to look like Somalia because another segment of the population has the mindset that’s not me why should I pay.

Why did Vance use a state funded program to try to make this point?

Medicaid isn’t 100% state funded, each state receives a big chunk of federal funding for their programs.

Comments on the tweet say that is state, not federal.

And before BBB, those states were reimbursed by the feds because of Biden rule changes.

That's why Cali suddenly had a 40 billion hole in it's budget

There is a law against federal funds being used for health insurance for undocumented immigrants and they cannot get insurance through the ACA.

Colorado, California, Maryland, Washington, and New York offer a few different types of state funded programs. Undocumented workers can get employer-sponsored insurance or pay for private insurance.

Federally funded health insurance is political talking point and it is not going to happen. Neither party wants this. A few on the left want healthcare for all, but it’s not something the majority of Democrats would vote for.

A state can waste their money on whatever they want. It’s up to the residents of those states to force a change

You’re correct.

That factors in the state actually using state money for that particular program, and not moving around federal money designed for other programs to help fund it.
