Nashville has become a woke city

These idiots come in from the cesspools LA and NY and are implementing the policies that destroyed those places. The music business is eat up with it here. I’ve played on big records over 20 years as a session player but have transitioned into sync libraries for tv and movies. I just make the styles they want and don’t have to deal with all the bs. Is better in every way.

He wrote the song this is your land in response to the song God bless America in the late 30s. The lyrics were borrowed and changed from a Carter family song who were the first family of country/hill music.

Then two days after George Floyd’s murder, amid massive protests across America, Guyton posted to Instagram a snippet of a song she’d written a year prior. The video is just a 38-second screen-recording of a file she has on her phone. Her voice full of emotion, she sings, “If you think we live / In the land of the free / You should try to be / Black like me.” It’s a pointed and forceful reversal of the jingoism that pervades country music.

So much to unpack, I can't even.

Bitch I'm sorry you can't relate to back roads, drinking beer, and pickup trucks. Maybe country music is not for you. It's not for me either but I don't stereotype the people who listen, although some deserve it.

I'm just curious what Ms Guyton and Mr Isabelles opinion of gangster rap is? Ya know since we are all stereotyping and shite. :honk:

How is country music hostile to black females? How many black females out there WANT to sing country music and are denied because of their skin? Also, I have a feeling that they would run into more hostility from their own communities than from white, country fans.

Jason Isbell is just one of many performers that share similar views. There are some real assholes in his genre

Woody Guthrie had a sticker on this guitar that said "This Machine Kills Fascists," but he hitched his wagon to an ideology more murderous than Hitler and the Fascists could have ever imagined. His beloved Communists are still killing people while the Fascists have been relegated to the scrap heap of history. Woody was such a shithead even the Communist Party didn't want him, but he was a loyal Fellow Traveler.

They'd be accused of acting white. Black folks have the blues, which is, in effect, "black country music" given its roots in the rural American South. Blues was a dying genre until a bunch of young white guys from England (and a few from the United States) discovered it in the early 1960's, resurrecting careers that were dormant or nearly dead since the 1950's.

Isbell is an insufferable douche indeed!

…with that said, I can promise you the fella on the far left in the pic you provided, drummer Chad Gamble, is far from woke or left. Chad was a fraternity brother of mine at Bama (as was his older brother Al Gamble, who plays keys for St.Paul & the Broken Bones).

The Gamble brothers are both born and raised in Tuscumbia, AL and were both very advanced musicians by the time they hit college. They both had more musical talent at age 18 than anyone I’ve known.

Chad and Al are really good people who understand hard work, as they “paid their dues” scraping by in the music scene for 20 years before both finally secured positions in creative, unique bands that gained a good bit of popularity—which brings in money.

Unfortunately, many working musicians’ identities are often times lumped in with the popular face of the group they support. For many in a support role, music and their craft, is a profession—and just like many other professions, those involved first and foremost need a paycheck. People need to do what they have to (play drums and don’t buck too much) in order to keep employment, which keeps food on the table!

PROBLEM-REACTION-SOLUTION script of 'Operation: Gaslight-Vandalism of Western White Culture'

a) "News" Source of Lies: BUZZFEED (bankrupt Leftist-Globalist propaganda organ)

b) Author: Elamin Abdelmahmoud ("victim" for-hire racist-immigrant / pan-sexual -- "licensed" to race-bait & lie )

c) Manufacture (one more) PROBLEM over ongoing fictional "White Privilege"

d) Dangle a willing self-loathing Straight / White / Male sell-out for his REACTION as "The Bait"

e) Report the entire BS "fairy tale" and Sell-Out as told by Musician / Athlete / Actor (frame account as collective "mainstream" opinion or legit)

f) Broad-brush the REACTION of "Bigots" and "racists" in response to lies as proof of "privilege", "guilt" or "sin"

g) Await scripted the REACTION of CNN, MSNBC, NY Times to pick up original story then expand into bogus "headline news"

h) Corporations, Schools and Gummint REACTION to CNN / NY Times: Providing "SOLUTIONS" to the ongoing continued "PROBLEM" of "White Privilege"

i) SOLUTION: Public Shaming. Condemnation. Punishment (of The Guilty). "Leveling-the-Playing Field" of EMPLOYMENT. Public Scapegoating.

j) WASH. RINSE. REPEAT

Jason Isbell is the personification of white nostalgia. His music is derivative and stale and offers nothing new but a rehashing of prior musicians who did it better years ago.

Just another pansy-arse liberal white that hates his own people but romanticizes other races. A dime a dozen in any university. He just happens to be good with a guitar.

I don’t really care if a musician is liberal. If his music is still good, I’ll still listen. Isbell’s music has weakened the last few records.

What annoys me, is that he presents himself as some enlightened voice on every topic now. No he’s not. Name any issue and I can tell you with 100% accuracy what his opinion will be. He’s just a parrot who likes having a seat at the cool kids’ table.
