Validated voter ID cards required to vote.
No mail in ballots. Unless deployed military or have a proven hardship. Not just for convenience.
Voting day not voting months.
Ballots counted and tabulated withing 24 hours. Not weeks later.
Convicted of committing voting fraud, 10 year mandatory flat sentence.
Then the juice is not worth the squeeze.
End of story.

edit - I didn't think Gore's claim had to do with voting machines - I thought it was about the design of the ballots in one district in Florida.

And as I recall, he was right - the ballot design made it very difficult to know how to mark it for a "Gore vote"

I'd have had more sympathy for him except for the facts that this was wholly a DEMOCRAT design and they just f'd it up royally. PLUS the dems had been stealing elections as a hobby for decades - and showed just how powerful they could be with their efforts in 2020.

The real problem is that some local flunky ran the iron rod through stacks of ballots in the wrong location - marking those stacks for Buchanan. And creating thousands of ballots with “over votes.” If they had correctly run it through the Gore location, they would have only spoiled Bush and Buchanan votes and would have tipped the election to Gore.
