From the little that I know about the Jewish faith they are pretty expressly charged with looking after strangers (as well as widows and orphans) in a new land just as God did for their people in Egypt (other examples as well). I think his comments reflect this. Likely the question was asked knowing this would be his response to get a good headline.

If Kushner is the primary advisor for Trump v2.0 we would be better off with DeSantis and I say that as a huge Trump supporter.
