Jamie Raskin: No "Criminal Conviction" Needed To Bar Trump Via 14th Amendment

Constantly shifting the goalposts...
Breitbart link about a CNN interview
What a stupid analogy.
There's a lot of things that aren't "said" in the 14th amendment so let's just make up a bunch of crap.
Breitbart link about a CNN interview
quote:
Raskin said, “The authors of the 14th Amendment themselves dealt with that question. They felt that if someone sets themselves at war against the Constitution, and engages in the most profound anti-democratic act of trying to overthrow an election by installing themselves in office with an insurrection, then at that point, they are constitutionally barred. So, when people say, it is undemocratic what the voters decide, that’s like saying, let Vladimir Putin run for president, even though he’s not a U.S. citizen because it would be undemocratic to deny that choice to the voters. The Constitution has already made that judgment.”
What a stupid analogy.
quote:
He continued, “I think what we need is a judicial determination of whether or not an impeachment by the House, 57 to 43 vote in the Senate, enough to establish as a civil proposition that he’s engaged in insurrection or whether you need additional adjudicated fact finding by the court. But nowhere does it say that you need to have a criminal conviction in order to make section three of the 14th Amendment apply.”
There's a lot of things that aren't "said" in the 14th amendment so let's just make up a bunch of crap.

But this never happened no matter how loud Jamie screams it did.

I just can't get past how many times it has been stated here that the Dems would love for Trump to be the nominee, so I don't believe Raskin.

That’s a political statement. SCOTUS will make him look like a dumbass.
Think about the precedent that would set. Would be totally subjective. We could easily make a case that Biden can’t run.
And guess what. If the people want Putin, we will fricking get Putin. It’s about the people. Not the ruling class.

I'm still waiting to see what part of the Constitution Trump actually ignored or fought against. He literally has a Constitutional responsibility to investigate and stop fraudulent national elections. He has a Constitutional right to call for and support people protesting on his behalf. Meanwhile PedoJoe and his white guilt losers around the country literally ignores his Constitutional responsibility to protect our borders from invasion. So lefties/commmies/fascists/marxists/dems/pedogroomers/etc, please tell us what Trump did that violated the Constitution. Oh with facts, not opinion or conjecture from the Squad or CNN/Morning Mika/etc...

Good luck on that one, buddy.

Stuff like this, no matter how much I think Trump has devolved into a buffoon makes me think he’s the right choice

Jamie Raskin is a liar and a dispicable human being who should be ashamed of how many lies he has stated as a politician.
His hatred for Trump should be pulled in because God cured him of cancer once, but maybe he may not be so generous a second time?

They are totally doing this to hurt Dessntis and keep Drumpf on the ballot
Posted on 11/16/23 at 10:29 am to BengalOnTheBay
Why would they care? Don’t they want Trump on the ballot? I am told by many on here he can’t win the general election.

So he thinks it’s not okay for s non citizen to run for president, but it is okay for non citizens to vote for a president? These people are insanely stupid.

People like Raskin have a particular nature. They are always trying to make sure it is done their way for it is the right way. It is no wonder a man had to scream long ago, "Let my people go."
Even then they fought the one who saved them.

Well theyve been doing this for a long time with no fight back so not surprising.
Democrats talking about the "sanctity of the vote" need to be reminded that they didn't care about the vote of the people of CA when they voted against gay "marriage," which then ended up stripping states rights via SCOTUS.
quote:
So, when people say, it is undemocratic what the voters decide, that’s like saying, let Vladimir Putin run for president, even though he’s not a U.S. citizen because it would be undemocratic to deny that choice to the voters
Is he saying there are no election rules on place to prevent a non-American born person from even getting in the ballot? If so, that should change. Every state should be required to have their birth certificate confirmed and turned in with their application.
