James Woods lost his home. He and other neighbors were not insured. Their insurance company canceled on them 4 months ago.

Woods also declared that he and many of his neighbors no longer have insurance after a 'major company' supposedly canceled many of the policies four months ago.

The left is going to pile on James just out of spite.

Were they not insured b/c no one would write them a policy or what? 4 months is a long time and if they had a mortgage on their homes, the mortgage company would require them to be insured.

That seems very odd for these insurance companies. Timing is suspect.

This is sad to hear for him. Even if you have money it sucks to have to deal with.

This is their own fault. If insurance canceled 4 months ago then that’s more than enough time to get another policy. It might not have been cheap, but that’s a risk they decided to take on (ask all the people with property on the coast of Louisiana).

Yeah they cant just cancel all of a sudden. You will get a notice months in advance to prepare.

I would assume that most in Palisades and Malibu fully owned their property. Some of the highest net worth individuals in the country.

It is not a requirement if you do not owe money on your house...

I suspect their current policies were dropped and there were other policies available at a much higher rate and James Woods opted not to have insurance or the fire hazard...

Next hurricane in Florida, you are going to see a lot of this...

The major majority do have insurance for their cars and this is a covered loss. Some rich Californians that have multiple cars they never drive don’t insure them since they just sit, but that’s more the exception than the rule. Even “display” cars at their homes typically have comprehensive only just for these situations.

I’m surprised these celebrities couldn’t find insurance through Lloyd’s marketplace. Might be very expensive, but I’m surprised there wouldn’t be options there from at least private insurers.

The left will be giddy. Even though a number of leftists will lose their homes as well.

A leftist has no problem burning down society, to rule over the ashes.

Correct but at the cash sale of the said home. The agents will highly suggest you get it and show proof before closing. Then you can drop the policy if you want.

They must have been sued in the past.
