My guess is that is has something to do with the Houston hospital mandating employee vaccinations. It seems like a much bigger story locally that may have national implications.

The station is apparently owned by Fox (Disney), not Fox News.

Assuming she will be delivering a bombshell, I can't see why any party affiliation would be against what she is doing.

It's quite possible it's a huge nothingburger and she's just trying to put a spark in her career. They probably told her to abandon a story because it could piss off one of their largest and most reliable advertisers. I don't think it is anything earth shattering or controversial tbh.
The way I see it, she's 32 years old and her looks have probably gotten her as far as they can. Her age is starting to show on her face if you look closely (don't get me wrong, I'd still hit it). She looks like the type of person that cracks unnaturally faster, so the clock is ticking on her. Her position doesn't pay much and there's nowhere else to move up to unless you get the attention of national outlets (and at 32, it probably means they've all passed on you). This has all the signs of a hail mary.
I don't blame her if this is the case. Working in media is a cutthroat industry, especially now with OTT content. If she ends up getting a job at Breitbart, OANN, or Blaze.tv, then mission accomplished.

No, it's owned by Fox Corporation, which also owns Fox News. The Fox Corporation is what is left from what Disney couldn't buy (a few terrestrial TV licenses, Fox Sports, Fox News, Fox National Network, etc.).
Disney owns KTRK-TV (ABC 13) locally.
