You're telling me this echo chamber is blindly following the medical advice from a Muslim state controlled University?
Yeah. That was the only study in the meta-analysis. Now look up meta-analysis.

Agreed but for different reasons. He should be put on trial because he funded the GOF research that led to covid and then tried to cover it up. Not for Ivermectin.
ok, i agree with part one.
but why not for ivermectin?
he knew it would all but eliminate covid. he purposely chose to not disclose a powerful treatment
that would be like a doctor saying "you have diabetes. but i wont give you insulin"

I looked up this.
Struggling to see how that is going to help against a COVID virus in any way.
quote:
Ivermectin binds selectively and with high affinity to glutamate-gated chloride ion channels in invertebrate muscle and nerve cells of the microfilaria. This binding causes an increase in the permeability of the cell membrane to chloride ions and results in hyperpolarization of the cell, leading to paralysis and death of the parasite. Ivermectin also is believed to act as an agonist of the neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), thereby disrupting GABA-mediated central nervous system (CNS) neurosynaptic transmission. Ivermectin may also impair normal intrauterine development of O. volvulus microfilariae and may inhibit their release from the uteri of gravid female worms.

Helps if you read more than one link, also maybe one that addresses use with covid. Not simply the drug Ivermectin itself. From the first link that popped up when I searched:
quote:
Proposed Mechanism of Action and Rationale for Use in Patients With COVID-19 Reports from in vitro studies suggest that ivermectin acts by inhibiting the host importin alpha/beta-1 nuclear transport proteins, which are part of a key intracellular transport process that viruses hijack to enhance infection by suppressing the host’s antiviral response.4,5 In addition, ivermectin docking may interfere with the attachment of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) spike protein to the human cell membrane.6 Ivermectin is thought to be a host-directed agent, which may be the basis for its broad-spectrum activity in vitro against the viruses that cause dengue, Zika, HIV, and yellow fever.4,7-9 Despite this in vitro activity, no clinical trials have reported a clinical benefit for ivermectin in patients with these viruses. Some studies of ivermectin have also reported potential anti-inflammatory properties, which have been postulated to be beneficial in people with COVID-19.10-12

India is prosecuting a WHO doctor for not investigating or using Ivermectin.

speaking of india- one of the areas that had exploded with covid the government passed out ivermectin to everyone. 2 weeks later cases were almost zero.
yet, we are being threatened about getting the vaccine

the drug’s promise as a treatment for the virus is in serious doubt after the Elgazzar study was pulled from the Research Square website on Thursday “due to ethical concerns”. Research Square did not outline what those concerns were.
Ethical concerns? What concerns? They just pushed 3 different vaccines that all had aborted fetal tissue in the research and/or production phase.
What were the ethics here? Obviously not moral ethics.

Fever hasn’t come back, thankfully. It feels as if I’ve had my arse kicked, and trust me when I say I know how that feels.

Glad to hear the fever broke and you starting to feel better. Both parents had it last year and had to ride it out like the flu. This was before the Vax was widely available. They felt weak for about 4 weeks or so, but soon were back to normal. They got jab when it became available not knowing they were immune with the antibodies. So far they are fine with no side effects. Hope it stays that way.
My wife and I have no plans to get the jab.

I’m not vaccinated. I’ve been having no taste or smell for 13 months with chronic muscle pain in my shoulders. I’ve received a prescription for ivermectin with Lovac. Will report back with results. I’m praying this will help because I am starting to run out of options after MRI’s, doctor consults, injections , etc.

In what form are y’all getting this at Tractor Supply? Everything I’ve seen online is horse paste.
Posted on 7/20/21 at 12:10 pm to Santiago_Dunbar
Get a script from an online doc. Don’t mess around with the animal stuff.

Thanks, figured that’d be dicey. Trying out Medici now

You can by it over the counter at your local feed store. Tractor supply co. store carries it.
yeah but that dose is for horses, correct? Is that the same stuff for humans? How would you even know what amount to take?
Posted on 7/20/21 at 1:31 pm to LSUfanNkaty
I have not tried it from the tractor store. My understanding from other conversations is the amount is based off body weight.
I would recommend using the MD link posted in the thread earlier. I would use the horse paste as a last resort.

Weinstein is an evolutionary theorist that had to initially adjunct at the shite university where his wife was employed as it took him 15 years to finish his PhD. He has two publications with less than 100 citations and has never actually published a study that did anything beyond propose an idea. He’s never published anything using data analysis or even demonstrated he has a rudimentary understanding of it. His wife was equally unsuccessful in her academic career. They have no expertise on vaccines, virology, parasitic medicines for off level usage, and frankly almost any topic they choose to discuss.
Pierre Kory, while actually being a doctor, is also currently unemployed as attended a medical school in Grenada—something you would only do if you couldn’t get into a medical school stateside. He has no training in statistics, epidemiology, virology, vaccines, or using parasitic medicine for novel viruses. Any information he claims expertise on would be off label and anecdotal.
The studies they cite include several that have been retracted, and when you properly adjust the meta analyses the effects go away. Weinstein is either dense or lying, but it is certainly one of those.
Let me be clear. I have followed his post-Evergreen career with interest and often agree with his various opinions on culture, problems with peer review, universities, etc. I was interested in the lab leak theory and he was an early proponent of it. I also fully endorse the right to free speech and make money doing podcasts and YouTube, even if one is knowingly (or unknowingly) lying. I just think people should have a full perspective before heading to TSC and taking de-wormer indefinitely as a prophylaxis.
I am patiently waiting their written response to the recent discussions of their missteps in these discussions—it’s more than a week late. Of course that’s not surprising for people that barely published over a couple decades. It turns out scientific writing is harder than reading abstracts of retracted studies on YouTube while posing as all-knowing experts.

He served there as the medical director for the Trauma and Life Support Center, in the outpatient pulmonary medicine clinic, where he performed bronchoscopic and pleural procedures.[2] Kory is an expert in critical care ultrasonography. In 2015, along with his two co-editors, Kory won the British Medical Association’s 2015 President’s Choice award in medical textbooks for their work on Point of Care Ultrasound.[2] Kory was the critical care service chief at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in May 2020.[3]
Who the frick are you?
You wanna throw your creds out there and we can measure them up to Kory’s?

I am a random person on the message board who isn’t currently suggesting that anyone listen to rogue unemployed doctors with no experience in the field at hand. There’s nothing wrong with formerly being employed as an ultrasound expert. I’m actually just saying people should know the complete story before getting hopped up on heartworm meds.

Just watched the whole thing. It's incredibly sad how much profit and politics shapes something like treatment of a disease.
I'm 100% free market, but this is not that.
