Gas has been pretty stable here. $3.09/gallon at the start of December..then the week of xmas and new years, the gas went down to $2.99. After the holidays, the price immediately went back up to $3.09. It's fricked because the price initially went up so high after Biden's presidency, that when we see shite at 2.99 and 3.09, we think it's great. Even though that price is still high compared to what it was prior to 2021.

Price jumped .30 two weeks ago. It’s still .10 higher than it was before. It’s been the pattern for awhile now. Random jump followed by slow decline.

I'm not big into conspiracy theories, but how else can you explain gas prices in 2008. Gas was around 4 dollars a gallon all summer and then right around 2.20 by election day. Maybe there is an explanation and I haven't heard it, but the variance

It seems both parties REALLY want to nationalize our oil mkt. So, weird. So, dumb.

Huge recession in 2008, causing everything to crash and tumble in the Fall.

In fact, since about April of 2005, the national average for gasoline prices has fallen under $2/gallon twice.

2008 Great Recession, and 2020 Covid Shutdowns.

Today’s average price of gas in the U.S. is $3.15 per gallon, unchanged from yesterday, up $0.04 from last week and up $0.06 from last month.

It happened either side of the recession. Gas got high during it.

Where?

Here in Vegas.

I guess to be fair, it's only like 56 cents, but it's jumped almost $.40 in the last 2 weeks.

The month is young....

Umm... Yes. Yes, it does matter that much. Not only is it a strategic surplus, but it is also equity that keeps us more stable.

There is no reason why the US cannot be refilling the SPR and simultaneously remaining the world's #1 petroleum exporter.
I agree it's dumb that we drained it so much, but it's sort of irrelevant at this point.

Price of oil was $128 in July ‘08. Then suddenly was $36 in December ‘08. That was a hell of a tumble.

Was also when you saw the Haynesville boom go bust. Natural gas went from $11 or $12 in June/July to $5 and change in December, then in the $2s and $3s in ‘09.
