They fail pretty bad on the planets looking like stars. I’ve zoomed up on Saturn before and you can see it clearly

I've got a cousin who asked me:
If a helicopter hovered, say.. 20 Ft off of the ground for 6 or so hours and stayed in the same position, why doesn't the helicopter's landing spot change?

You do realize that people can actually SEE the curvature of the Earth, right? You don't have to be some kind of astronaut or government agent to do so. Like, it's in plain view in a variety of locations and situations accessible to the average person. Anyone who has ever driven across the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway in South Louisiana on a remotely clear day can see the curve of the Earth.
Flat Earthers are absolute morons. I wouldn't be shocked if flat earth was some sort of psyop by the government to discredit people investigating actual conspiracies by lumping them in with Flat Earth nonsense.

The atmosphere is also moving. It's not like all of the air is standing still while the ground moves beneath it. They're both moving together.

Not only that, hovering inherently requires a fixed point on Earth. That’s how you know you’re hovering and not traveling, you move with the point.

Have you watched the Documentary? Neil Degrass Tyson is on it saying its impossible to see the curve at 10, 20 and 60 miles up . Theres zero percent chance what you think you’re seeing crossing the Causeway is the curvature of the earth.

then explain why when out on the water, say near an oil rig, that from a distance only the top of the oil rig is visible above the horizon. Then, as one gets closer and closer, the rest of the rig becomes visible. It is because the lower portions are obscured by the curvature of the Earth. The Curvature of the Earth is observable, testable, and quantifiable without having to be some hot-shot PHD scientist. You can do it yourself, whenever you want.

They cover that stuff in the documentary by using a Nikon camera. You can actually still see the full thing, just not with regular human eyesight. It’s a limitation

Yep. I used to look at the planets using an old pair of binoculars my dad would bring with us to LSU football games. I've also been able to look at planets through observatory telescopes as well as hobbyist telescopes. Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn all look like the satellite photos.

Did ypu even watch the Documentary? Watch it . There are many factors that contribute to that . Haze , waves , perspective , etc This particular issue is covered on it extensively. I dont believe the earths flat but Curvature is not observable from the surface or from many miles up. Watch it , the guy with the infrared photography may blow your mind . Things in the distance totally undetectable with the human eye show up in infrared hundreds of miles out. Our eyes are limited .

One can easily circumvent the earth from East to West or West to East -- but not vertically over the Antarctic or "South Pole." North to South circumnavigation by either sea or air has never been accomplished. Because...it is impossible.

The whole flat earth thing is so ridiculous to me. It’s so easily disproved.
1.) flights??
2.)Road engineers need to account for curvature of the earth in making road correcting to long farm roads
3.) This isn’t some modern day conspiracy- this was discovered hundreds of years ago in multiple separated cultures
4.) The “it’s silly to believe we’re moving so fast through space” argument is the most egregious
Its not the speed you feel but the acceleration. Does it feel like you’re going 75 mph on a long car ride or 550 mph in a plane? NO, because you gain inertia with the moving vehicle and feel still, even though you’re moving quite quickly. Now if the earth ever stopped rotating suddenly, that’d be a doozy
