Thomas doesn't want you to know this but his single largest campaign financier is an American Jewish billionaire named Jeff Yass to the tune $1 million through a PAC

That's why he carefully says it's Israel control and not directly calling it Jew control despite surrounding himself with Jew hating social media influencers.

Every election cycle, he regretfully explains that he simply has to run again because he’s “fighting for the people.” Sure, he promised to leave after six years, but democracy apparently couldn’t survive without him.

Fast forward to 2021...after winning his fifth term, he heroically co-sponsors a term-limits bill. Not sponsors. Co-sponsors. Because actually leading on the thing you built your brand around would be a little extreme.

Naturally, the bill dies quietly in committee and is never heard from again. Much like his original pledge.

Good post with information many of us (me included) didn't know.

It's a reminder isn't it. They are alway going to fight until they get there... yet it's a big club, and we (including Thomas Massie again) aren't in it.

I don't have the energy to do the workup, but in 2016 a bold new candidate burst onto the scene, trashing neoconservatism and wars in the middle east. He said many of the same things while campaigning in 2024. You get the point.

This is like the 10th reference I've seen to a pinecone... I missed whatever the story is, can someone please tell me? Pretty please?

Had no idea he was for term limits. Didn't seem like he believed in them so much either.

The OP thinks this is a gotcha but this is an incredibly misinformed post.

1. Over 130 members of congress have signed this exact pledge. But Massie was "revolutionary really". Here's who all have signed it in our current congress: LINK again, revolutionary, really.

2. The pledge says right there that he pledged to CO-SPONSOR the bill. Why is he being singled out for not doing more than he pledged? If 130 people pledge to sponsor a bill do you know what they're called?

3. No where in that pledge is there any promise to leave congress if term limits dont go into law. Why pretend like he made that promise?

If you really had shite against him you wouldnt have to make bullshite up.

Specifically, they needed him in 2023 so he could vote with Biden to suspend the debt ceiling.

Hence why most of us realized he was FOS.
