I believe it did. It shined more light on how awful these people are and IMO most of America is wise enough to see that, even though they may not be the most vocal. 2016 was enough to convince me that there are more people that can see right from wrong than I initially thought.
And if his go pro had not been stolen, we would have seen even more of what's going on. More evidence of terrorist-like behavior will eventually force the hand of lawmakers to have to take a stand on either side and show their true colors.
