I dont think this is true. I think its badly misworded. No way Rubio tries to deport a legal resident.

What could possibly be wrong with politically and materially supporting a terrorist organization and movement?

Well that's pretty much all the Government has offered to the courts on this, but they either can't or have not articulated how that applies to this guy. How does he pose serious adverse foreign policy consequences?
That is the point they are trying to make - that the SoS’s determination is not subject to judicial review. It’s not really about Khalil specifically, it’s the overarching question of does the Secretary of State have final say on this or a judge?

Mahmoud Khalil, a student activist and lead negotiator for the encampment in the 2024 Columbia University pro-Palestinian campus occupations, was taken from his New York City apartment building by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents on March 8, 2025. The agents were acting on orders from the State Department to revoke Khalil's student visa.
Wrong.
Mamoud khalil has a green card and is a permanent US resident. He is not here on a student visa man.
Just read up on the case. In fact, just read the article I posted. His legal status when he arrived versus his legal status now are two different things.

Why are we having cases for foreigners?

There is review of the determination. That statute requires a "reasonable ground" for the Secretary's determination. That would be the issue the courts get to decide.

HoLeeShit! Then they (Marco Rubio) really didn't think this through at all? How much MSNBC do you take in daily?

Well then who gave him the legal right to sit in front of an immigration judge? Where did that come from?

Just read up on the law.

I get your point. That was poor language on my part. What i meant to say is that he's a permanent US Resident.

Edit: Dipshite OP is apparently not recognizing that those on a student visa can also be considered “lawful permanent residents” if certain steps are taken. Both can be true simultaneously.
What are the circumstances that would require a permanent resident to also obtain a visa?

If what you say is true, why is Rubio referring to him as an alien then?
Do permanent US residents warrant the term “alien”? You keep saying he’s a permanent US resident so show it.

Greer said she spoke by phone with one of the ICE agents during the arrest, who said they were acting on State Department orders to revoke Khalil’s student visa.
Informed by the attorney that Khalil was in the United States as a permanent resident with a green card, the agent said they were revoking that instead, according to the lawyer.
