Complaining doesn't do anything. To be effective, you have to hit them where it hurts....their wallet. And the best way to hit them in the wallets is to make their advertisers start reconsidering whether they want to be associated with CNN anymore. If a few big national advertisers start pulling their ads, CNN will be forced to stop being so biased and report accurate news or they'll commit corporate suicide even quicker.

The neat thing is, you don't have to do that at all here to understand what's going on.

I agree with a few others about boycotts but advertising alongside CNN's fascism makes them look complicit.

Get out of tehir way, stay quiet, and let them continue on.

At this point it's almost laughable. CNN, as a response to a non-issue, actually issued a response.

In all of this I hope we don't lose the opportunity to sneak in and get a tax cut done. Specifically targeting me. Let them continue to debate Russians, mems, and anything else that distracts them.

I also need to say, that although I don't understand Reddit, 4 Chan, 5 Chan, and all that stuff, these guys are extremely creative, entertaining, and patriots in their own unique way.

With as bad as their reporting has been on basically everything and with the threats to the meme guy, this is the last place CNN wants to be right now.

It's extremely interesting to see how the left leaning media constantly acts as if they're all victims of Trump bullying the free press, yet when someone creates a stupid gif, they stalk the guy and bully him into apologizing by threatening to dox him.

CNN did all the legwork on this one. I don't know who they're using as PR consultants, but if they were consulted as to how to handle this, they should be fired.

What are you talking about? What CNN wrote is 100% correct. They do have the right to release his information. And they reserve the right.

And if they do so, they will incur the wrath of every troll, and hacker that sees it. I don't think that is a battle CNN wants to get into it. It would make front screen news and lead every news program on television. This is something CNN wants to go away badly.

What you have a "right" to do, and what the smart thing to do is, are typically two completely different things.

Honestly I hate the whole threaten the sponsor tactic. That's stooping to their level.

Reluctantly agree, they have a first amendment right to make as big of arses of themselves as they wish. Besides, after consulting the list I'm not supporting the vast majority of their sponsors to begin with!

I don't like how we've equated sponsorship with support of ideas. Just because Ford advertises on a particular network doesn't mean Ford endorses and agrees with everything said or produced by that network. They're just trying to sell a product to those viewers.

Well, there would be some merit to that. I mean advertisers have pulled sponsorship from programs when there was little to no backlash based on something a program did or said. Shoot, the NCAA threatened to pull event from North Carolina because they did not want transsexuals using any bathroom they wanted. So, the NCAA obviously felt that have sponsored events in NC indicated they supported NC's law against transsexuals.

Advertiser sponsorship is what funds the creation of a network's programming. While I agree with you that advertisement on a network doesn't mean the company agrees with the content produced, when the network they're sponsoring keeps their name in the front pages with lots of negative attention, it may be time for sponsors to back out to avoid the perception of being associated with the negativity surrounding the network's brand.
