Well it worked well in Germany and Japan.
In terms of Afghanistan, there was no intention of rebuilding. The objective was to guard the poppy fields to provide a steady supply of thebaine to pharmaceutical companies, particularly Purdue Pharma, to manufacture Oxy and other opioids. But since China has introduced fentanyl onto the market the demand for opioids from poppy plants has significantly decreased and the money in Afghanistan dried up so we left.
In terms of Iraq, we never tried to rebuild that country after invading.
