Bill Clinton was impeached but not removed from office.

"weak reasons." Slick Willy lying to a grand jury is not a weak reason to impeach.

It will take a couple dozen house republicans. One or two gop will co sponsor.
It can not get out of committee unless its obviously true.
After the next round of trials someone will be in mourning.
The Orange one is doomed.

So impeachment is nothing more than a political victory. We know he won’t be removed.
Woe be unto those that cross DJT and lose. One certainty that will come from this, is that Sessions and Rosenstein are gone after the mid terms.

You know. You would think it would be pretty common knowledge. But so many people that I debated politics with that “knew” their shite believed that the only impeached President was Nixon and that Clinton wasn’t impeached because he wasn’t removed from office.

Yes, there's a difference. Bill Clinton was impeached for perjury among other things, but he (obviously) remained in office.

the dims are not even attempting an impeachment. Dims like talking about impeachment. They know full well impeaching or attempting to impeach Trump would massively get out the vote for him. Dims are stupid, but they aren't that stupid.
You can also throw in the fact that the Dems aren't eager to have Mike Pence in the Oval Office.

I thought he was gonna be doomed by last March, Otto.
I mean, that WAS your prediction. Care to address that?

You really are down to the shards of your ability to defend this misanthrope, aren’t you?
It couldn’t happen to a better bitch.

He wasn't even impeached, he resigned his office because the writing was on the wall. Ford then issued a full pardon so that the country could move on.

Should I be offended or flattered? I’m confused!

Not specifically directed at you, Winston, but in a general sense, it scares the shite out of me that Americans from all walks of life have to ask the question, because that means they don't know.
Then again, half of the country keeps talking about saving our "democracy" so all bet are off.

And even if impeached, but not convicted Trump can run for re-election in 2020 and probably get a boost in voter turnout as payback to the dems for the impeachment dog and pony show.
believe the senate can vote after the removal vote to bar someone from holding public office ... there's probably some legal/constitutional murkiness there, however ...

There were plenty of better reasons to impeach him if they wanted to go that route. The public saw it as the Republicans being petty and impeaching him over jizzing on a dress.

The Democrats can vote to "impeach" Trump, presumably starting in the House.
In fact, only 2 Presidents (both Democrats) have been impeached. Andrew Johnson only narrowly avoided being removed from office.
William Jefferson Clinton was impeached, but had a far more solidly partisan vote behind him (no Democrat voted for impeachment or removal) PLUS 5 Rs on 1 charge and 10 on the other.
Richard Nixon is the only President, thus far, that I believe would have been impeached and removed had he not resigned.

He also encouraged Lewinsky to lie under oath, while both a licensed attorney and the chief executive of the United States.
