I don't know why they would be, given the parasite is feasting ravenously on its host and that parasite has been empowered further by consuming the host's heart and soul.

I would suspect a vast majority of regular people of either party would be in favor to get rid of the process that allows politicians to be bought generally via lobbying and campaign funding. Personally I think the solution is publicly funded elections and to criminalize lobbying, though I'm not sure how that would play with ya'll conservatives.
