I sure hope so. IMHO, he is the ONE man who could have put a stop to this nonsense before it ever started, but he didn't. News link: LINK

That will be left up to the good people of Alabama. As for me,knowing what I think I know now, I could not vote for him. Alabamians should wait and see how TGOAT handles this situation.

His arse needs to fade quietly into obscurity... If he was even remotely interested in the best thing for the people of Alabama, he would have never filed paperwork...

All this talk of John Durham criminal probe into the origins of the Russia investigation, and y'all aren't willing to give Sessions credit for appointing Durham not only to stop the leaks in the FBI, but for having been on the case since 2017?

Cold.

Hearing him speak, sounds like he is full on MAGA still but Tubs also sounds like a good fit.

I think either would do what is expected towards trump policies.

So either/or but not Roy Moore.

We'll see.

It seems that if Sessions end game when sidling up to Donald Trump was to help him do right for the American people and blow up the deep state, as I've seen countless times on this site, would he really want to get back into the same-old role in the Senate? He's 72 years old.

My take is that he's an okay guy who's been in Washington waaay too long and never had it in himself to go through with what President Trump is facing. But he's addicted to the prestige of the position and wants to go back to where he's comfortable being called 'the kind gentlemen from Alabama.'

Sessions is the only one in the ENTIRE Senate who cleared a "mud check" for ethics concerns, a couple of years ago.

Tuberville is a con man. I'll have to hold my nose if it is him in the general.

I'm of the opinion that Trump should not be involved in this race and leave it up to the people of Alabama.

If Trump personally campaigns against his own 1st AG and one of Alabama's own in one of the most Trump friendly states, and Sessions still wins, that could encourage more GOP senators to break from Trump and it would not be a good look for his status as head of the GOP.

And Trump does not want to risk his grasp of the Senate GOP when he has the most control of it ever after McCain died.

I don’t know what he was like in the Senate and his current GOP opposition; Bama baws get to decide.

But as Attorney General he only sucked less than Obama’s two. And that is not high praise.

Hey, I depend on you posters for a lot of news. I hate to get it from "regular sources". So I have to ask for a fact check. Durham who was nominated by Trump to be the US Attorney for Connecticut was confirmed in Nov. 2017. Barr appointed him to investigate the beginnings of the Russia investigation and not Sessions. Do you know if I'm correct?

Trump has said he won't campaign against Sessions but he didn't say he wouldn't campaign for a candidate. But you are right he needs to stay out of the primary. He needs to remember what happened in the special election when he backed Strange.

I'd vote for Sessions in the general but I will more than likely be voting for Tubs in the primary.
