Is pregnancy a disability?

A few days ago I read a WSJ article about the EEOC pushing for a new ADA classification... pregnancy should be a disability so that employment discrimination suits would include getting pregnant.
It got me thinking about the real life ramifications.
There are not 50 million people in wheel chairs...or other disabilities. But there are way more than 50 million women who will get pregnant.
So, Mary gets pregnant... applies for a job. Doesn't get it. Calls EEOC and they file suit. Mary gets a settlement.
Thoughts?

Apparently for some on welfare it is a learning disability.

Also Zach, if she were to get hired and then enrolled in the employer health plan, went through the allotted probationary time, would this be covered as a pre-existing condition?

OT, but a friend of mine knows someone that gets a check because she says she can't sleep.

its already illegal to inquire whether a woman is pregnant in the interview process, and illegal for you not to hire her b.c she is pregnant.

Uh, I don't think the 3rd trimester requires a question.

Pregnancy allows you to claim short term disability in most policies, so it already pretty much is counted as a disability.

No more PreX according to Obamacare. But in the past, it was NOT treated as a PreX Condition but the group got a hefty rate up at renewal.

This is semantics. According to these assholes, everyone has at least 20 disabilities.
If everyone is disabled, then no one is disabled.
If everyone is disabled, then no one is disabled.

I'd be okay with the EEOC if it didn't have such potential for abuse of power. Burden of proof can be nightmarish.
