Is it time for the US to join the rest of the world and end birthright citizenship?

As a compromise to the libs we can grandfather in anyone who has citizenship that way but from the day the law is signed moving forward it's ended.

Discuss.

Tell us the process you think it will take to achieve it.

No . Sorry you don't like the Constititution.

No need to "Grandfather" anyone who was a citizen the day they were born.

If someone gifts the estados unidos with an anchor baby they should become a citizen, including the father!

I see no problem with this deal. Libs won't like it because it cuts off their future vote stream.

It does many things to help the US. It cuts down on illegal immigration. It helps the environment in the US but cutting down overpopulation and crowding. Cheap illegal male labor will still come through for Repubs because this doesn't impact the men.

Won’t happen. It’s a part of who we are, it’s one of the things that makes us America.

Besides, immigration is good for scary news headlines, but the truth is we need more people for a growing labor force.

Now, the fact white people will be a minority subjugated by the Hispanics in another generation is another thing.

If you knew the Constitution which you don't you'd know the wording is unclear and birthright citizenship was made up out of a interpretation of the writing.

Fun topic.

Will never happen.

Both parties like birthright citizenship.

The 14th amendment is pretty clear about this actually.

So is capitalism, exceptionalism, and our position in the world but libs and the left want to destroy those.

Lots of threads on this already.

But for the record: if your cat has kittens in the oven you don't call them muffins.

Even us Libtards know this.

Maybe you should read Art 1 sec 9:
quote:

No bill of attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed.

There is no 'compromise' on this. Citizens are citizens.

That said, yes birthright is no longer necessary. And I say this as a big fan of immigration.

We could a law that restricts citizenship to kids of citizens and kids born to legal residents born here in the US. That "might" get us around the constitution by arguing the "subject to jurisdiction" clause must have unique meaning. I doubt it would work, but should at least try it first.

And if you have a kid (which most libs don't these days. They get a dog and the husband has a vasectomy at 23) in Spain you don't call him Spanish.

Thus. It's always been assumed but never ruled upon by the court.

That’s fiction

This doesn’t make sense.

Ya, and the 2nd is pretty clear about its subject as well but that doesn't stop tards calling for "common sense" gun control.

In any case, yes we should stop birthright citizenship, but it will take an Amendment.

Doesn't matter. If the "illegals in action" voter drive model we employed in NOVA is any indication, their undocumented status may actually be a plus. Same joker can use three different IDs. One ID can be used by a whole team of roofers at separate polling locations.

That's how you get from 3.3 in the polls to 8.9 in the final tally.
