I wouldn't be surprised if Schumer isn't orchestrating his "opposition". That lets the lunatic fringe of their constituents be happy with the more radical leaders of the Democratic party. At the same time, the Democrats as a whole can avoid being blamed for a shutdown.

He would’ve been an idiot to fight against the CR when it continues the Biden spending. House GOP handed him a gift horse.
This is why the CR was passed as is. If there had been any cuts, the democrats would have been united and been able to blame the Republicans for the shutdown. It was a brilliant political move to fracture the democrat party. A GOP rep basically said this was the reason for passing the CR, and they still fell for the trap.
Some people know how to play the game, some don't. If you want to actually win, you need someone who is effective. The progressives don't like the old guard of Pelosi and Schumer, but they were very effective leaders for their team. The ideologues following them will be less effective because they are driven purely by their beliefs. They don't know how to play the game, so they just create a scene to make their supporters happy. They will weaken the democrat party when they are in charge.
Hopefully, Republicans will be wise enough to get an effective leader instead of an ideologue to take advantage of the situation.

This CR is the Biden/Schumer budget. If anything, this is Nancy positioning herself within the 'resistance' to take the Speaker's gavel when Dems win in the midterms.
This is all theater. Schumer and a few others vote to get the Biden/Schumer CR through the wickets and Nancy pretends to be mad that there wasn't enough resistance to Trump. Dems get what they want (continuing their budget during a Trump presidency) and Nancy comes back to the front to push Hakeem to the side next November.

They're red hot about something different every week. They'll forget and move onto the next "current thing" before the weekend is over.
These are not serious people.

Chuck deserves every bad thing that happens to him. I feel badly for him not.

After years and years of seeing GOP Senate, House leadership, as well as alleged 'conservative' USSC justices pull this stunt, I'm glad that the Left finally get to feel what it's like.

Maybe this is the first move by senate dems to begin the process of divorcing from the radicals.

He is done for sure. One of two scenarios is going to play out both of which leave him on the outs, one very much so, literally.
- the rabid insurgent progressive portion of the democratic party is furious, they are going to make a play to take the party over in total. Now I wouldnt mind this one bit since thats the 20% of the 80/20 side of every issue theyre losing on, which will result in AOC taking his senate seat and they will Ole Yeller him
-the dem party might have somewhat of a hope at salvaging itself and not going extinct and become a respectable opposition. To do this theyre going to have to come FAR more to the center on almost everything, which is going to completely jetison that 20% I mentioned above, and will take total buy in and commitment as this will be a decade long or more job. This also leaves him on the outs because hes too old but he likely wont be shot like a dog with rabies like he would in case one

It’s quite interesting to see both parties upset at the middle ground shite portions of their parties for signing on to this stupid shite. It will only bleed us dry.
I'm trying to be optimistic about it...in an era of insane polarization it's rare to see any kind of compromise
