Jim Rogers predicts that in 100 years, the number of nations will at least double. He doesn't think Russia, India and Africa as we know it will last in their current forms.

The US has the most advanced military
in the world.

Our political situation is "weak" due to
the national Obama mandate after
a decade of war.

Russia knows this and they're
power grabbing in their region.

I don't see another Great War, only
more proxy wars.

The one thing, and about the only thing, correct this current administration has done was stand up to Netanyahu and the Israeli Likud hawks to prevent a global catastrophe with Iran and the entire Mideast which likely would have led to WW3.

McCain and the Neocons were ready to bomb Iran "today", remember? Can you imagine the ramifications of that right now? This is by no means stating that the current administration is worth a shite or even half way competent, but this one area of foreign policy was necessary.

Regardless of your politics, you have to admit the USofA doesnt exactly hold the strongest position in foreign policy right now that might normally deter some of these folks from getting a little rowdy.
It's Ameircan foreign policy that is largely responsible for what's happening in the world. America, along with Israel, are the biggest threats to world peace.

... And its instability. Tyrants and narcissists only speak one language: power. We may be complicit and have blood on our hands but can you imagine the shape the world would be in without us?

World 'peace' is not attainable as long as tyranny exists.

I've considered this before. Who else could/would lead?

It's ashamed that America, with all its potential for good, has turned into the brute monster it is today.

I'm not as much of a pessimist. We give the world so much aid, so many new technologies, contributions in science and medicine and advances in agriculture that have nourished billions. We have saved the world from communism (a veiled form of tyranny and exceptionally oppressive) and rebuilt Western Europe and Japan into thriving economies. Again, can you imagine the 20th century without us? We bankroll the UN and have trained the officers in just about every military in the world.

I don't know why it has become our official policy to apologize.

Now if you were referring to an amoral culture, post modernity, and materialism then I agree with you.

In reference to this:

The reason many are disillusioned with the military is because we have no clear, codified foreign policy. The enemy is nebulous since we are not fighting a flag but a twisted but deeply imbedded worldview. Our foreign policy seems to be at the whim and fancy of the executive branch - and sometimes for political gain ( Bill blowing up a Tylenol factory to divert attention from his dalliances).
