I really just had a good catch-up with a dear friend I hadn’t seen in years. Things had gone to shite for him, he redeemed himself into making thousands of dollars... and then he revealed to me that he knocked up a woman and they agreed to have an abortion at one point. He was in town just for the night, but that just made me abruptly end it.

He’s about to marry the chick he had an abortion with, which made it all the more disgusting. I’m invited to the wedding, but I am disgusted that he aborted the kid of the woman he is going to marry regardless. That is just evil to me. It’s the first friend I know to do this, and given that he’s marrying her years later, I am sickened by it. This just damages the friendship, and does that make me a bad friend?

No sin is unforgivable to God, only if the person is genuinely repentant and calls for forgiveness.

However as a frail human there is no way in hell I'd ever marry a woman who murdered her baby, no matter how young or dumb or misinformed she may have been.

Abortion is unconscionable in my opinion. I had a friend who had one in high school years ago, and it really, really messed her up. I've never been closely involved in the decision-making process on it, so it may be unfair for me to opine.

With that being said, you shouldn't have to compromise your morals for a decision your friend made. If it's a real issue for you, and he has brought it up to, talk to him. He may be in pain over the decision which wouldn't damage the friendship for me, or he could be pretty blithe about it which would severely damage it for me.

Abortion is the only reason Trump is President. It’s Democrats murdering little Democrats.

With no abortion we’d have never have had another white president again after Obama.

Up to 50% of pregnancies end in spontaneous abortion. It just ain't that big a deal in the grand scheme of things.

Not a bad friend for being disgusted by that, especially if your friend isn't sorry for it. If he repents for what he did, he should be forgiven.

You might as well say someone dying in a car accident is the same thing as purposefully running someone on the sidewalk over.

Skip your friend's wedding. You'll be doing him a favor. More room for his real friends, and one less self-righteous prick he'll have to feed.

Everything can be forgiven.

You're absolutely entitled to your beliefs.

It might just mean you have a different stance on morals? Not necessarily that either of you are "bad".

Ummm...what?

When people show you who they are...believe them. It's 100% murder. I had the EXACT same situation with a friend.....actually, a former friend, who is now married to the guy, and has children who are the brothers and sisters of the kid they murdered...Find a better friend to support.

The average Russian woman has 5 abortions in her lifetime.

And yet, the most popular overseas brides are Russian women.

Especially Ukraine, the most beautiful women in the world.

Your friend is not looking for forgiveness. He is looking for acceptance.

This is something I could never accept.

If he repents, God will forgive him, and I would as well. But he is not repenting, he is committing. Tell him to call only after he’s sorry for killing his child. Then find more moral friends. How can one trust a person who will kill for convenience?

I am currently friends with a couple of people who are sorry for aborting their children. We are all sinners.

You don’t know the thought processes that go through that decision, all of the circumstances, etc. it’s easy to boil down to trashy girl doesn’t want her baby but many times there’s a lot kore to it than that. I’m not here to judge them.

Have a friend that did the same thing. They went to PP and she took a pill. They stayed in bed all night while she got sick and had her period. It sounded disgusting.

Their marriage ended in a divorce. He was never able to get over it. Always held it against her. He promises me to this day it was a little girl.

Sad.

Moral code is not the same between the sexes.

There's a difference between a nurturing gene and a moral compass gene.

Your friend revealed this to you for a reason...true friends can confide in one another, and he didn't want to keep this secret from you. He didn't have to tell you this, but chose to anyway.
A lot of people are quick to condemn a woman who has had an abortion, without thinking about how they're impacted later in life.
Most come to regret their decision, especially when they go on to have children down the road. Many suffer depression.
Yes, abortion is a sin. But God is faithful to forgive a repentant sinner. After all, King David committed murder and adultery, but was repentant and God forgave and restored him, and most Christians consider him to be a man after God's own heart.
From the information you provide, it sounds like your friend and his fiancee made their decision while "things were going to sh..". He made a mistake. Have you made mistakes? How do you want your friends treating you when you make a mistake? Golden Rule.
