I wouldn’t care either way about Juneteenth being a holiday of and in itself.
The reason why I’m opposed to recognizing Juneteenth is because it’ll lead to more calls for reparations and the like.

In reality, the day of the emancipation proclamation should be a federal holiday, but since it was already a holiday with New Year’s, that wasn’t good enough.
I am fine with them adding a federal holiday in the middle of the summer. Private companies and locals don’t have to make it a day off, so no big deal. It is pandering at its finest, but in this case, fine.

My point is simply that the US literally dropped two nuclear bombs of the Japanese, and we were on friendly term with them well within a generation.
It's been nearly 160 years since the Emancipation Proclamation and nearly 60 years since the Civil Rights Amendment, and yet to hear activists today things are worse of in America than at any tie in our history.
To say it's been long time to move on is an understatement of epic proportions.

Make June the official Black History Month and let the gays have February.
