I don’t regret being there but it sucked arse.

I personally don’t get anything from the VA but guys like Matt Walsh are pissing me off railing on VA disability. Vets are dealing with life altering permanent conditions from being over there.

I don’t think that region is really better off from our time and investment there which sucks.

BIGGEST lesson that should have been learned is if you commit have an objective, complete it, know your endgame, and be done.

Thanks, Marine. SEEMS like Trump has absorbed that lesson re Venezuela.

Shapiro started this. Money to Israel and VA money come from the same pool.

As an American, we were all lied to. Nation building is for shite. Pretty sure there were alternate motives at play.

Believe our son would answer, militarily - was what it was. Politically - not worth it

Was thinking of after...as in Operation Iraqi Freedom since our last troops from that left today.

But, would greatly appreciate your thoughts on both missions.

I was HUMINT working sources for target packages in Afghanistan for JSOC in Kunar province for 14 months and before that right out of AIT I was sent to Iraq for a 12 month stint where I just did mostly learning how to properly do my job in a combat environment in the SCIF but also had to pull QRF and stuff,

Was it worth it? fricking hell no

It was really fun and cool though getting to go out with ranger recon on the target locations to help coordinate on site intel gathering if there was any, Our chopper came very close to catching an rpg once but the chaffe got it

I was very young. I joined the army at 17. Then basic and 6 months for AIT since I was intel. After that air assault school then straight to Iraq for 12 then straight to Afghanistan for 14.

I was an E5 when I got to the latter but I always felt like the targets we were putting together for jsoc made no sense and had no discernment or long term thinking about bigger strategic goals. Idk. The teams were great and proficient killers but the whole thing came off as a cluster frick

I felt it was at the time when I crossed the berm the night it started and seeing how they lived. A lot were thankful at first in the smaller towns we liberated. Two Purple Hearts, couple Bronze stars with “v” device and three deployments later I knew that place would always be corrupt and isn’t much we could do about it. Lost two great friends over there and a couple lost the battle back home. I’ve got some memories and hurt everyday but honestly still not sure what worth it means. Anyway I got a pretty cool PH license plate so I got that going for me.

I did two to Iraq an two to Afghanistan. Now I refused to help fund it. I had my awakening on my last trip to Iraq. I was a Corpsman with USMC EOD.
I never stopped to ask any questions till I was in Syria on a post blast and ask why does none of these boys attack Israel instead of fricking up thier own areas. Then it hit me. After I read the Quran and it had a positive reflection of Jesus. I ask more Questions. Then I got the Talmud and I got out the Military 12 months later. I wouldn't say I wasted 13 years of my life. Some of them was pretty shitty for a while

I learned alot for sure.
