Americans are going to die, fighting in someone else’s war, for a cause, a cause that just doesn’t matter to us.
It’s stupid.

2. I can't understate how major this is. Not just a moment in US-Iran relations, but a major global event. People comparing this to killing Osama Bin Laden don't know what they're talking about. This is way more significant. Equivalent to another country killing US Vice-President
3. Soleimani is extraordinarily close to the Supreme Leader of Iran. Soleimani reports directly to the Supreme Leader, the Qods force is technically part of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps which also reports to the Supreme Leader.
He is more powerful than Iran's President

4. If you want to understand how powerful Soleimani is all you have to look to is a text he sent to David Petraeus. This text is an extraordinary (yet unsurprising) display of power. Especially since Iran has an elected president and foreign minister.

I personally believe deep in my heart that Ali Khamenei should personally inspect the bombing site. Deep in my heart.

so they were fine with iranians going after americans in iraq?
I'm going to answer if you don't mind. Yes MSNBC is fine with any number of American troops and citizens being killed until we return to the policy of Obama/Kerry.

these frickers are saying we crossed the rubicon with these attacks? this isn't the first time these fricks have done something in the last year. we've shown INCREDIBLE restraint until now. you can only poke the bear so many times before we say frick you

Almost no doubt the Israelis and at least the Brits are involved perhaps the French as well.
I absolutely hope the OIR nations were onboard for this. It matters if things escalate.

I'm also patiently waiting for dems in congress to absolutely lose their shite that Trump ordered these high level strikes without their blessing. I'm honestly surprised that hasn't happened yet. Could be another round of peach mints.
I hope that he did it and never briefed Pelosi of Crying Chuck either. To hell with them.

And we reacted.
And now we’re probably looking at war.
What were we defending? Our right to a continued occupation of Iraq? Is that presence even desirable? I don’t know anyone who believes that, these days.
And is it really worth it, If it means a regional war?

Do we even need to bother going thru the motions of a 2020 election now?

lol Iran ain't coming for us. Would be funny to see the blue check brigade find ways to actively support and root for them, though.

You really believe that? Think about why Iran wants joint military exercises with Russia and China. The United States has certain National Interests and that does not include sticking our heads in the Persian sands so to speak.

A war would destroy Trumps re-election.
It would gift the Democrats the White House.
