YOu know ... I could have just typed what you just did and saved a lot of time. That about sums it up.

"Someone who has still never lost a general election?

I invite you to watch both speeches tonight. One was of substance and about Biden. One was rambling about poll numbers and other republicans. "

The fact that you put Trump second tells me he killed it. I didn’t watch it.

Trump bragged about poll numbers while the audience fell asleep

He didn’t. He was terrible. Twitter is out of control with it right now.

He looked old and tired, rambled about poll numbers and “desanctus”, and bragged about spending a lot of US taxpayer money.

You can watch it. Both speeches are on the page before

Exactly right and it is hard to thread that needle. I did not hear the interview being discussed, but you hit it on the head.

"He's probably having a hard time getting his head around the idea that people that have labeled themselves as "America First/MAGA" are more concerned about Trump than things that matter far more to, you know, Americans."

Have not heard the interview you are talking about yet. Should somebody really say what they are going to do before they know all the facts? Is that what we want?

Ouch. Poor Alex can't log onto social media without taking an L

That Trump speech was pretty low energy. About as much energy as a 2 PM project kickoff meeting on a Friday.

Apparently enough energy to keep the usual suspects all stirred up. As usual, more discussion of Trump than Desantis, even on a lesser Trump night and I guess a career night for Desantis.

If there’s no America First/MAGA movement this constitutional republic is over….period!!

If you mean a set of principles that put the priorities of our country first and fighting the Deep State we have at least 2 solid options. Everything DeSantis has done and promised in 10 plus years in office shows he is MAGA. Trump of course deserves that moniker.

If you think MAGA is Trump and only Trump than it's doomed anyway. This is his last go round any way you slice it so MAGA is almost done because Trump is nearing 80 and on his last election, which is has virtually no chance of winning.

So do you care about MAGA or Trump?

It’s night and day how opposite those two speeches are.

If this was the first time someone had ever watched both they would be stunned to know Trump is winning.

It was that bad. Twitter is CLOWNING him.

I based it in part on crowd response. I did not see all of Haley as CSPAN had a tech issue at the start. Trump got responses based on what he said he did for Iowa for example. The others could not do that. But, if I grade him it would be a C- at best. Based on tonight, I think Haley, Burgum and Ramaswamy could compete in a debate. Trump won;t have it so easy in a debate. This type of performance in a debate where people can respond will result in a drop in the polls he talked about tonight.

... I would say it is a 6 person race with the chance of Youngkin getting in late and making it a 7 person race for a while... counting Christie at this point.

... I think Pence may drop out first ... followed by Hutchinson, Scott and Suarez.

These three were not bad ... had their moments ...

3) Haley
4) Burgum
5) Ramaswamy

these four were NOT good...
6) Scott
8) Suarez
9) Pence
10) Hutchinson

"Damn. How awful did the rest do if they were worse than Trump?

That was the worst I’ve seen of Trump in a long time. I give him a lot of credit he knows how to work a crowd. And he was shite tonight. "

We are literally discussing how low energy it was. And so is all of Twitter.

It was laughably bad.

Desantis was fricking fire. He brought the heat and relentlessly laid out an agenda and attacked Biden.

Trump mentioned is poll numbers and spending taxpayer money. And DESANCTUS.

Curious how Cult45 will spin this performance. It's terrible.

Tonight he was reading off a script.

A poor one.

Trump left early - no enthusiasm

Never Back Down is running out of pens signing up commitments in the caucus for DeSantis while he’s still meeting with people and taking pictures

It’s clear where the enthusiasm is. The polling is worthless.
