I’m reminded of a conversation that I had years ago with a college aged liberal. Speaking about illegal immigration, he was convinced that our constitution commanded that we allow all immigrants. When I asked him for the exact language he was referring to he said our constitution states “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free….,"
I explained to him that he was referencing a poem at the base of the Statue of Liberty and not constitution language
