The Dems have sorely needed to figure out their schizophrenic policy goals for a while now.
Blowing a hole in the black vote, which is what kept them above water in a lot of areas, is going to mean they either come up with a new plan or splinter into several groups which will be infighting until someone exerts control.

If there was one single voting block of Americans that I would firmly put in the anti-gay, anti-environment, anti-identity politics camp it would be the black male vote. I still find it hilarious when anyone makes the argument that Mayor Pete wouldn't have any issues with this group.

IIRC, Trump said something to black voters that fits perfects and that is "what do you have to lose?" It is a concept I tell the black people I interact with all the time. What have the others done for you over several decades. At the very least, send a message that they need to do better by not voting for them once cycle.
