Immigrants are not adopting American Culture

They are bringing their native land culture and language.
This isn't America first
these people do not have a connection to our storied history, they don't have a cultural connection with the people who died fighting for America.
The faces of world war 2 are of young white men...that's who fought and died for all of us.
We are quickly losing our identity by having 1 million legal immigrants come in annually.
Untold illegals...
what say you?

I pass by people speaking another language everyday

I totally agree, the American Culture is getting trashed by illegals and lbgt+ and socialists ... thanks to the MSM pushing the 'bad is good' on everyone

You mean they don’t show up here eating hot dogs and apple pie?
Neither did almost all other immigrants.
Now if they are not working toward assimilation over time, while still adding their own flavor, I’ll agree. Ghettos are bad.

Agreed. I recently lived in the Miami-Dade County area for over a year. Probably half of the conversations I overheard everyday were in Spanish. I met ppl everyday that didn’t speak a lick of English. I was told by several Latinos that other Latinos think learning English is beneath them.

My grandfather was full blood Italian, his parents came over on a boat before he was born...they were so adamant about being american that they didn't even teach my grandfather how to speak Italian. My grandfather was a tank driver in world war 2 and bled this nations pride. Not none of this crap we have today.

You really don't see our government bending over backwards to do anything for immigrants and illegals but help them assimilate? Was there ESL back when the wave of immigrants hit this country in late 19th and early 20th centuries? Were there all these hyphenations? They were all "just" Americans. This country encourages them to come over now and try to make America into the very countries they fled.

I disagree that LEGAL immigrants are a problem. Legal immigrants come here to become AMERICANS. The want to be citizens.
ILLEGAL immigrants are the problem you refer to. They just want to live here. They have no desire to become citizens. They cling to their 3rd world culture like Velcro.

My own anecdata (from Htown) suggests the parents have the hardest time and don't really learn the language or adopt "American Culture", but their kids do. I've noticed that the second gen after the kids may not even speak spanish.

This is one of those issues that libs want to make taboo to talk about. Illegal immigrants and refugees are NOT assimilating at all.
They want to set up barrios or isolated communities where they can hoist their flags and stone their women for revealing too much ankle. They want the federal and state governments to adopt their languages and bend to their religious beliefs. We simply don't see this same phenomenon in the legal immigrant community.

I’m a big proponent of generous legal immigration, from culturally compatible countries that have a proven track record of successful assimilation and contribution back to America. I don’t care about their race, I care about the likelihood that they will adopt and share American values.
All illegal immigrants should be deported immediately to preserve basic American sovereignty.

I totally agree with you, it seems back in the 70s and 80s when people were coming here from other countries they wanted to assimilate into the American culture, now the majority of the ones coming here don't give a damn!

That's the problem you have with large groups coming in. The larger the group, the less assimilation. We see this not only in the Southwest and in California but this is the same issue Europe has faced with so many Africans and Middle Easterners flooding their shores.
