I’m so proud of Tennessee and their removal of racist voting practices

It’s so nice to live in a colorblind state. Where your merit is what determines your value and not your color.

AP and CNN do not share your thoughts.
They think all blacks can no longer vote.

Remember, this is the representative for black voters they are fighting to protect.

He probably picks up a bucket of chicken whenever he goes to speak to blacks. He just pulls it out like a prop and starts eating it, because he is one of them.

Blacks make up 15%-16% of the Tennessee Legislature. Blacks make up 15%-16% of Tennessee's total population.
Also - to critics of the move, what percentage becomes the tipping point for having to create a district for a race in order for liberals not to call the State racist? Apparently 15% is enough.
Are the 2.5% of Asians in the state effectively disenfranchised because they do not have a district? What about the 8% of Hispanics?

He keeps dozens of bottles of hot sauce in his car and loves to tell the story of how he and his grandma would make so many greens they had to wash them in the bathtub.

You know redistricting is based on politics. Admit it.

Fine.
I won’t do it by insisting that only black people need the special protection of creating congressional districts just for them.

Colorblind merit is the hallmark of a successful civilization.
Democrats have been attacking merit in favor of racial identity as long as I can remember.

What are you talking about the new map was drawn with the intent of a black person not being able to cast the deciding vote in any congressional election. It's race based

If you want to live in a "post racial" society, the first step is treating everyone equal, regardless of their skin color.

The new TN map doesn't do that its purposefully disfavor able to blacks, Memphis is split into as many districts as possible to make their impact as small as possible

All votes are equal. Black votes are not any different than white votes. You are upset that black votes are not specifically grouped in ways to give them extra weight.
