Today, Russian officials told the WHO that there are no cases of “plague”, the lab worker’s death was unrelated pneumonia, there are no secondary cases, all tests for dangerous pathogens came back negative, that 60% of the precautionary quarantined contacts have been released, and that local hospital restrictions and contact monitoring are being wound down.
Trump says they will give us an update tomorrow, but the reports from Russian officials and independent watchdogs are that there is currently low to very low risk to the public, there is not a single case of plague, and the actions taken by local Russian authorities were precautionary. Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, also thanked Trump for his offer to help, and there is a healthy dialogue going on between the US and Russia about the situation.
As of right now, the facts are that there is no outbreak of “pneumonic plague”, yet the MSM continue to push their fear campaign and seem to be rooting for this to become another pandemic.
Until further notice, this media-generated panic about “pneumonic plague” is a hoax. If Trump tells us there is something to worry about, then you can worry, but the media hysteria around this story is being massively overblown, based on the current facts.

What is the purpose of labs playing around with these things like the plague?
The technical line between studying hazardous biological material to prevent or prepare for future outbreaks and creating new deadlier forms can be blurry at some of these facilities.

Just so we are clear, there has been zero confirmation that the lab worker death in Russia is the result of an outbreak of “pneumonic plague”, yet Left-wing media outlets are suggesting it, and their sheep are running with it, based on absolutely nothing other than hearsay and speculation on telegram channels, one of which was labeled as a “foreign agent” by the Russian Justice Ministry in January.
It’s adorable watching all the people and entities who dismissed the Covid lab-leak theory, as well as dismissed the undeniable reality of the US-funded biolabs in Ukraine, are now suddenly outraged, solely because this rumor is about Russia. A completely unverified rumor that has not been confirmed by any government or independent watchdog.
The Biden administration, in coordination with major social media outlets, censored and banned people like me for accurately reporting on the dangers of USAID-funded zoonotic pathogen research in places like Ukraine. Now, the MSM outlets and influencers who called me a Russian asset for accurately reporting on that story, are now strangely interested in this new rumor, because they can use it to push their anti-Russian bias, because they are on the same team as Ukraine. They are all owned by the same handlers.
The Left’s outrage about this situation is fake. They don’t actually care about the dangers of pathogen research. They spent years saying that all lab leaks are conspiracy theories pushed by crazy people. They are only outraged now because they have been instructed to be outraged.
The Left are desperate to make this story something it’s not, and the only reason they are so eager to report on it, is because it’s Russia, and they hate Russia. This is just the next extension of “Russia bad” and “Trump bad”.
Pictured is then Senator Obama at a Ukrainian biological facility in 2005. This is a narrative war, and the Dems/MSM are aligned with Ukraine, because Ukraine is their offshore proxy where they can do things they can’t get away with on US soil, and they are desperate to cover it up

Are you telling me that you think a lab tech inhaled a bacteria and died 48 hours later?
I mean of all the ridiculous Russian bullshite cover stories of all time, you're buying that?
What exactly are you trying to say here? That the plague story is a Russian manufactured hoax? The Russians are denying that this is a plague outbreak.

For what it is worth, none of my friends and family in Serbia, Bosnia or Croatia know anything about it. The news there has said nothing.

The news in Russia isn't saying anything about it either.

So if people there aren't hearing about it and the Russian media isn't reporting on it and the Russian government denies it is a plague outbreak and says they have everything under control it's kinda hard to square that with the idea this is some sort of Russian hoax, right?
This narrative is being spun up by someone else. Probably Ukraine, if I had to guess. Just a few days before this happened Zelensky said to the UN that Putin was going to be "patient zero." A pretty weird thing to say just a few days before this narrative is spun up claiming there has been a plague outbreak in Russia.

Fair point that this doesn’t look like the Kremlin promoting a plague story. I should’ve said Russian state TV and Moscow papers - some local & independent Russian outlets have reported it. That doesn’t tell us Ukraine started it, though. Zelensky’s “patient zero” line was about Putin spreading war. There’s just so little verified info that’s it’s hard to know what to make of it yet.

Grok:
Pneumonic plague is the most severe and virulent form of plague, a bacterial infection caused by Yersinia pestis. It primarily affects the lungs and can progress rapidly to life-threatening pneumonia.
who.int
Forms of PlaguePlague has three main clinical forms:Bubonic (most common): Affects lymph nodes, often after a flea bite; produces swollen, painful nodes called buboes.
Septicemic: Involves the bloodstream.
Pneumonic: Involves the lungs.
cdc.gov
Pneumonic plague can be primary (from direct inhalation of infectious droplets) or secondary (when bacteria spread to the lungs from untreated bubonic or septicemic plague).
TransmissionIt is the only form of plague that spreads directly from person to person, typically via respiratory droplets from coughing or sneezing (usually requiring close contact). It can also spread from infected animals (such as cats) via droplets or from handling infected tissues. Other forms are usually acquired via flea bites from rodents or contact with infected animals.
Person-to-person spread in modern settings is rare with prompt public health measures; the last documented U.S. person-to-person transmission was in 1924.

Well I believe we’ve already seen person to person because a 2nd person is also dead right?

No idea. There really isn't any reliable information on this thus far and I have zero trust in what the Russian government says.
Time will tell.
