Also, almost all measures of black well-being have improved over the past 25 years (most notably, the level of violence and teen pregnancy) even as "two parent households" haven't increased. I'm dubious about the direct connection always casually drawn.

I think you've missed my point. I had no intention at all to assert that the OP was trying to curry favor with whites. I'm just saying that blaming it on 2-parent households misses the mark. Back during the supposedly halcyon days of the mid-century that whites are always referring to (when blacks were supposedly doing so much better family-wise), they suffered punishing abuse at the hands of whites and the white-dominated system.
