I’ve suggested this to him, but he said he’s done traveling and wants to stay local. That really limits his opportunity. We’re taking him up to WCU this week to explore his collegiate options.

Not that I disagree with your stated goals, but as a prospective employer, I'd be leery of your motives. not sure what I'd make of that resume'.

Absolutely.
1. They don’t really care as long as they can put a check in a box
2. No HR dept would EVER dare question it

Any white person who doesn’t identify as a minority on job applications is a damn fool.

Veteran is a legitimate minority group.

But the only labor shortages are specialized jobs or jobs that are usually $7.25/hr. Everything else is getting double or even triple digit numbers of applications.

For sure…the problem with veterans is that they typically don’t have a college degree and don’t qualify for many professional job.

They hire just enough actual professionals to get the work done but absolutely enjoy job fair and college recruiting which targets minorities and, where possible, the rainbow brigade.

The corporate mantra is to brag about what alphabet activist group awards they have won.

I was hired 3 months ago. Half the jobs I applied to are still taking resumes.

usps process is solid.
look at his applications.
marines may not be training guys for applying for work.
use keywords appearing in job descriptions.
help him reframe his experience.
right opening will be his.
no drugs.
be sober and on top of it.
no cursing.
I worked for three quasi and federal agencies.
fed reserve took a long time. fbi as well as some internal thing.
agriculture was immediate hire.
small dept. hiring Mgr was eager.
usps was 4 weeks from apply to interview.
but after I was selected it was a long time doing the fbi thing.
I was a database developer.

Do you work in which one? And how many white people are you turning away for jobs till s minority applies? I know I've hired white people in the last year for tech jobs as well as expanded offshore resource usage wh n we couldn't hire enough here.
