Well, we’ve already reached the point of no return on that deal. With Russian aggression and China building more aircraft carriers and island runways there won’t be any regression in defense assets overseas. Global stability rests in the hands of the US military industrial complex. One can argue that isn’t a good thing, but it’s still a fact.

Social programs are not truly socialist. They are more so safety nets than anything. Maybe the clearest example is social security. And it’s a program that will go broke within the next generation. Socialism so great yay. Also, they’re all fully funded by capitalism.
