He realized he was being manipulated and capitulated so as not to fall into a forever war.

Anyone who acts like the came out ahead is straight up retarded…BUT

If you’ve had any experience with a “sunk cost” circumstance, it takes a big person to recognize their mistake and cut their losses

I now fully expect other powers that be to continue and try to bait us back into conflict

To Trump’s credit, he seems to be learning

We'll only know when, and if, the deal is finally put to paper.

Like Iran launching missiles at their neighbors and our ships and closing the strait?

I agree. But he needs to come out and say it. He called Obama stupid over his agreement, and said he tore it up. Then he said no negotiations about nukes or the strait, etc etc
He failed reaching his goals, and should admit. Instead of having all these morons throwing shade over this catastrophe.

It makes it worse and give Dems talking points. If he admits an error, they have no story

I think he doesn’t want this to go any further, so this is the hard stop he created. I don’t necessarily agree with the notion that he was being “manipulated.”

I think hitting Iran is something he wanted to do.

My only concern is I hope he isn’t thinking we can get out of this easy and just quit.

I’m hoping we’re keeping tabs on them as they act up and are continuing action via proxy.

They do - there were some tweets, I know of one, that was 100% lifted from this board verbatim

So this is following the plan

Agreed. Given the nature of his comments describing the new leaders as intelligent and not radicalized only wanting what’s best for the nation, I’m willing to let things play out a bit more and pray he’s right.

The only real losers here are the neocons and Israel.

No. I doubt lifted 40+ year old sanctions were part of the plan. Even Obama, Clinton, Biden, and Bush didn’t do that

Took a while, and we'll see.

The rest, I agree with.

I don’t know about all that but if the other option was putting troops on the ground in order to topple the regime, then go about a decade or more of Rove era nation building, I’m at least glad we didn’t go that route.

How so?

I can grant he made mistakes while also acknowledging he seems like he wants to correct them.
