Choose the four states for what?

Iowa - caucus method gauges the degree of devotion of a campaign's supporters
Ohio - must win for a Republican
Florida - must win for a Republican
South Carolina - red meat for the base

Ohio- self explanatory considering any general candidate that wins it wins the presidency the last 20 yrs..?
New Hampshire- Trump was super close to winning this state. 2k votes shy and Maine he was close as well. I think those were overlooked in 2016.
Texas- filled with your hardcore Cruz religious fan boys and a decent amount of Bush types. George P Bush (Jebs son) endorses trump and is running very similar to his uncle. Land commissioner now, Gov in 4 yrs then presidency after. Calling it now that’s his plan.
Florida- most interesting state I find and it’s crazy that DeSantis and Scott both won. They both killed it with Latinos and blacks (for GOP standards - 40% 15% respectfully I believe) both endorsed trump early and never waive red. Florida is now a red state because of it.

Iowa - I like the reason you keep Iowa but what about someone like Cruz that simply courted the evangelicals?
Florida - is expensive to run in and punishes campaigns that might start slow in donations. Still you have the Cubans, I-4 Corridor, Jacksonville and Panhandle who are all different kind of voters.
Ohio - Absolutely
South Carolina - I like SC being one of the first but I do like the thought of Georgia possibly sliding into the top 4 or maybe even Virginia?

California, NY, Florida, and Texas
28% of the EC is right here in these 4 big states
I start in California, and begin telling them they are idiots and need stop being idiots....
hit Texas and hammer the border, and suggest because there is no border, the state is turning blue...
Go to Florida and tell them they are a state that typically determines the next president....If they want to become Cuba, PR, and Venezuela, then vote Democrat.
Fly to NY and talk about late term abortions are for people with no soul...high taxes suck, having to take the sub way sucks, high rents sucks, the Knicks suck, losing Amazon sucks, Cortez is an idiot, ask why do you people live here?
should be a productive trip
keep hitting these states again and again adding more salt each time

The Republican primary state order should be decided by the percentage of voters who voted Republican. Never understood why republicans let states that generationally vote democrat decide who their candidate is.

I like Iowa because it's an early gauge of who has the most fanatic supporters. You want to keep those supporters in the coalition. Ron Paul almost won Iowa in 2012. The Republican Party in 2024, imo, will be closer to Ron Paul than the establishment. If Rand runs in 2024 and does well in Iowa, but ultimately comes up short, the Republicans will need to keep his voter demographic in the fold. Same with Cruz. Iowa can be a gauge for a good VP pick.

Going 4 Tossup States
Arizona - Differeng parts of the state will challenge any candidate.
Missouri - Again, there are rural voters voting differently from the suburbs. It’s going to showcase whose got pulse of Evangelicals, Establishment and Libertarians
Ohio - Manufacturing belt will demand economic plans where candidates must decide in Free Trade or Protectionism
Virginia - Establishments State but also has government employees, military and old south voters in rural Virginia

In my opinion, the four states need to be relatively small in population to give underfunded candidates a chance. The states should together be representative of a wide swath of the country both geographically and demographically, that way candidates must appeal to a wide base. They can’t be all rural, and need to have some urban areas. At least one should he a swing state. I think the four should be Alabama, Indiana, Arizona, and New Hampshire.

Trump lost Ohio.
Basically just Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Florida matter. If you win all or at least 3/4 of those you'll win the nomination.

I agree about waiting on big states, I just prefer a diverse voting blocks.
Huckabee, Santorum and Cruz all won Iowa
Iowa is over representing the evangelical national averages

Florida is a state Trump will need to visit a lot . If a far left candidate wins the democrats nomination then some of these red states like WV , SD , Montana ect will be easy wins . I think California would be a good state to start in . Some of the citizens there are getting tired of the far left policies and moving out of state . Trump needs to be there early to gauge support to see if it’s worth more trips . Texas is another state that will be important to keep the voters interest . 4th State should be a norther State like Ohio , Indiana Michigan or Wisconsin.

1. Iowa
2. New Hampshire
3. South Carolina
4. Arizona
Keeping the traditional openers. They test regions.
Adding Arizona to test the west and old people.
I oppose large population states (Ohio, Florida, tex. Mich, ny, California) the first 6 weeks. Too expensive. Big states require massive money or local support ie establishment.
