My bad. My northeastern geography knowledge has always been crap.
But I'm sure the Adirondacks are beautiful. The places I have been in America, typically when you get outside of the bigger mega-cities it's stunning. Can be even in smaller cities like Flagstaff or Estes Park. I personally find the mostly uninhabited central regions of New Mexico to be breathtaking.
