Why do you feel you can’t say that?

It’s simple...all lives matter or no lives matter.

The objections aren't about disagreeing with the proposition "all lives matter", it's about the context of saying it. When you say "all lives matter" in response to black lives matter, it's a little like saying "everybody loves their grandmother" to someone whose grandmother died who's just said "I loved my grandmother". Sure, what you've said is true, but it doesn't honor the other person's loss.

Apparently the question is a couple of layers to deep for you.

Thats the problem, blacks dont believe black lives truly matter or they wouldn't kill each other at an alarming rate. They only matter when taken at the hands of a white man.

Why should I worry about context? I truly believe every life matters.

I believe that everybody loves their grandmother, but when I make the categorical statement about "we all love our grandmother" to the grieving person, I disrespect their grief. Even if I feel like Granny was a POS, it's really more the decent thing to do to keep my mouth shut.
