Nope. Also, if you paid not federal income tax you should NOT get to vote.

Surprised this hasn't gained actual traction. Dems don't want it of course

....and for that they are rewarded with citizenship and thus the right to vote. If you take that away then you merely have mercenaries who will no doubt then go to the new highest bidder.

Local and state level should be allowed.

But in the White House on a federal level, maybe not

What needs to happen is all immigration should be shut down and focus needs to be on revamping our entire immigration process and serious evaluation of what best serves our country.
This immigration without assimilation is destroying us. The top, number one change should be that anyone here must speak English.

How can assimilation be accomplished without speaking the language of the country you assimilate into???

Is that crazy?

All I know is that the tolerance of the United States is going to cause the descendants of the white men who built it to lose power and influence on the world stage - eventually to the point of insignificance.

Women and (current) minorities are going to vote white males out of power at every turn as the decades go by and ultimately control the resources, innovation, and military might of the nation that probably still will be maintained off the backs of white men. And once it’s gone, it’s gone.

Many years ago I used to live in Selma, AL., a major location of the Civil Rights era. A man named Joe Smitherman (a white man) was the mayor there from 1964-2000.

In 1965, the white/black population was about 50/50. By 2000, the white/black population was about 30/70 and Smitherman lost the mayoral race to a black man. A black man has been the mayor of Selma ever since and with a white/black ratio that is now easily 20/80, that will never change.

This is a microcosm of the future of the USA regarding white people and current minorities in general. Minorities breed like crazy (even strategically) and they are hungry (women too) for the power that the white man has had for a long time now - and we are gradually giving it to them.

Maybe you consider that a good thing - or maybe not. I’m just telling you what’s going to happen. “Brown and black” countries and communities don’t give a frick about diversity, and they will only care about it here until they become the majority.

Breeding isn't what happened in Selma. The white population moved.

The black population has pretty much remained constant over the years. The only one that's grown significantly is the Latino population.

True.

But what white flight did to Selma is happening to the USA due to higher birth rates and immigration.

wow, one the more ignorant statements I’ve seen on the internet in a few days.

1. You can’t be an “immigrant” to a country that didn’t exist yet.
2. Most Founding Fathers were born in the colonies, not immigrants.
3. They were British subjects in British territory, not newcomers to a foreign nation.
4. The claim tries to apply modern political framing to a completely different historical context.

go back to Reddit and stay there.

if you look at the first 21 years following 1788 (ratification of the Constitution) would've been very problematic in finding office holders "born in the USA"

The poster gave a long screed about Selma. Most of those minorities there sure are.

Military families children born on foreign soil can’t hold office? I’m certainly glad you’re not the rules maker

No

I'm not tied to any particular policy "solution" to what ails us

But clearly an open-border country where you don't have to look, speak, worship, believe or act in any given way (or within a range of ways) is barely a country at all. People will act like saying that is controversial and pretend that's not the case here, but it obviously is.

There is no creed you have to agree to, no language you have to speak, no God you have to believe in, no general mores/customs/etc. you have to subscribe to in order to be an American per a big swath of the country. That swath dominates academia and our government bureaucracy. Entertainment. Journalism.

It's insanity. It's like going to an airport and the first 10 people you pass are the ones you have to pool resources with and live together for the rest of your life. It's dumb.
