I’m not believing or disbelieving. The narrative on each side will continue to shift as it has done since this story broke. So far I’m seeing much more consistency of information coming from the DOJ/FBI than from MAGA. Does it mean that the FBI found what they claim to have been seeking? No. Does it mean their actions were actually in good faith and not simply politically motivated? No.

What it means is that as more information comes out Trump will either be shown to be in violation of very serious laws or Trump will be vindicated. If the former is the truth I doubt the MAGA folks will ever admit, moving the goal posts or claiming false flags/deep state setups. If the latter is true I doubt the folks on the left will accept it, choosing instead to focus on Trump’s previous deceptions as proof of his current guilt.

Personally, I would prefer we collectively move away from both Trump and Biden, and try to get back to a less oppositional form of governance. That’s unlikely though as people call for civil war, demonize the other side, and engage in constant uniformed speculation while refusing to look at factual information when it comes to light.

I agree with you, but if you consider the other side they feel similarly. They feel like overturning Roe v. Wade is an intrusion, which given the original terms of that ruling, I’m in agreement. They feel that utilizing tax dollars for private religious institutions is an intrusion and a violation of the constitutional separation of church and state. They feel that they’re rights to couple with and enter into legally acknowledged relationships with are being infringed upon. Etc.

Honestly I think we’re all looking for similar things, but we’ve been convinced by an oppositional party system that we’re too dissimilar to acknowledge that. And while we go on opposing, and hating each other in the most extreme examples, our nation is being fleeced by corporate interests and corrupt politicians. I’m willing to acknowledge that that corruption exists in the Democrat party. Pelosi, Manchin, Schumer, the Clintons, the Bidens, etc. need to exit the stage. Trump and those that have riled so many up over false claims about the election being stolen also need to go, because they haven’t been operating that way with magnanimity. They’re corrupt power seekers as well.
