If we're talking reparations why not include....

the Indians that were here first, before any white or black? The American indian was massacred, pushed off their land that had been home for centuries, and nearly eradicated by the "white man's diseases(i.e. small pox).
How about the American land owners that lost their lands through eminent domain...often for compensation that was a mere pittance of its actual worth.
Both these examples are-were at the hands of the US government. There are many more injustices that go without mentioning. There are many more that don't come to mind at this time.
My point is.....there have been so many terrible things that have happened through history. Not only here in the USA, but also in Europe,Africa,Asia,South America, and also in Australia. This is the evolution of all our societies through the ages. To signal out ONE particular wrong and demand reparations is absurd. To think their cause is more important than others throughout history is just greedy lunacy!

frick all this reparations bullshite.
Both sets of my grandparents ate dirt during the Great Depression.
My family never gained shite from slavery, and even if it did, I’d say things are even now.

Because we’ve already paid these reparations...

If, reparations are paid for people working for free, way back when... that would suddenly mean that they were historically gainfully employed, back then, on a sort of delayed paycheck deal.
So, would they suddenly owe back rent and grocery bills?

Exactly. We’ve been paying reparations for 50 years and what did it get us? Generations of entitled folks that don’t know how, or are too lazy, to earn what they need and people having children without giving any thought of providing for them because...the government will do it for them.
Yes, they have more than received their reparations.

Whites collect welfare too.

I want reparations from the Barbary coast States for the millions of white European slaves they took through piracy, many of whom were worked to death as galley slaves. Sure, it didn't happen to me but it happened to people that looked like me, so therefore I'm traumatized

Are 87% of welfare recipients white? Please tell me that this is the case...support that position.
I’ll wait.

The coal miners were paid with non transferable vouchers that could only be used for goods at the company store. This kept them from having cash savings.Their housing was company owned and deducted from their pay.
Debt bondage was a form of slavery. Many were taken advantage of in those days.
"I owe my soul to the company store."
Too many were screwed to count or be singled out, slaves and screwed workers alike.
It was a bad deal for many. The price of being in early America.
We can't repay the people who went through these traumas, and owe those who didn't experience this nothing.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/science/science-news/11046891/Seals-helped-Europeans-wipe-out-Native-Americans.html Disease-riddled Europeans, carrying tuberculosis across the Atlantic, have long been blamed for wiping out huge populations of Native Americans.
But new research has found that the deadly bugs which killed millions were probably spread by seals and sea lions, long before Christopher Columbus first arrived in the New World in 1492.
It's one thing to point out things we did that were bad, but at least point out ones where we actually were the bad guy.
