Unfortunately, I think we'll be very close to systemic collapse and war if that happens.
I think we would see a federal income tax strike ("no taxation without representation"), or at least people putting off payments. If a tax strike begins to gain traction, self-interest and FOMO ("why should I pay when no one else is paying?") will catalyze it. To the extent the act of invoking martial law hasn't taken down the system already, it won't take too much of a tax-strike phenomenon to spike bond yields and make continued operation of the federal government difficult. A10-20% dip in receipts coupled to a protest movement and martial law will make literally everyone doubt the stability of the United States.

Very little difference if the Dems win either the House or Senate or both. With a Rep President nothing will be signed into law. Even if Rep keep both houses doubtful much gets done. May be much to do about nothing.

They’ll blame it all on John Thune, because they don’t understand that he doesn’t have the votes to pass the SAVE Act. They also don’t understand that no legislation is going to save the GOP this cycle.

The overwhelming majority of people pay through employer withholding.
No one is striking anything tax payment related.

No. Nothing Trump has done will prevent illegals from being counted in the Census.
FWIW, because the illegals are dispersed across the US, the actual impact of removing them from that consideration wouldn’t have the impact many think it would. So CA, TX, and AZ would give a seat or two each back to OH, PA, NY, IL etc. It’s not some electoral gotcha.

An effective POTUS would have worked to have these things codified. Instead, POTUS chose to yell things about mandates and winning the popular vote instead of realizing that he did not, in fact, have a mandate in Congress and thus needed to compromise to accomplish anything lasting.
A 53-47 Senate with a 5 seat majority in the House will never be a mandate.
