Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh … even small government people agree that protecting borders is a basic function of government.

So how is defending the borders “big government”?

The assumption is that every single person who crossed stayed in the country.
Why would you say that?

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) recorded over 10 million "encounters" with removable noncitizens across all U.S. borders from January 2021 through mid-2024. The vast majority were released into the US. Those were just the ones customs and border protection "encountered."

How many millions do you want to assume made that trek, and then returned stealthily back across the border to their home countries?

Many people probably would’ve said the same thing about USAID less than a year ago.

Is this you going on record that ICE funding will be decreased at some point?

I can predict that we will be "deporting millions of illegals" for at least the rest of my lifetime.

The USA never reduces police or military funding.

Hell. I’d bet anything you want. Whenever democrats get the house again.

And then use that as a small portion of handing out benefits to them again.

So what’s the bet?

You wanna check the Obama years before you double down on that?

To catch and deport the illegal migrants who have already crossed the border. Duh.

You're right. After wars, military spending has been reduced. When is the last time that happened?

ETA: the early 90s after the Cold War.

The big bastard included $45 billion for new detention centers and $29.9 billion for enforcement and deportation operations. This represents a 265% increase in the detention budget and a 300% increase in the overall ICE budget.

We are over $30 trillion in the hole. We need to start cutting everything not adding on this enormous amount that won't amount to a hill of beans the next time a democrat comes in. If you wont to stop immigration you don't build a wall or turn ice into a hugely powerful machine that is above the Constitution. To end immigration it is very simple all government handouts must stop and I mean ALL. That is the small government fix for immigration.

So after we finish deporting all the illegals it would stand to reason we would reduce spending on deporting people no?

I'm beginning to believe she's just another troll. Even if you try to have a valid conversation with her she comes back with some off the wall combative bullshite.

I don't think she can be taken seriously, similar to VOR

What? The government has no right to know who you hire as a business owner.

Deporting illegals cuts down on the spending for benefits for illegals to include healthcare and education.

We’ve pretty much stopped illegal immigration with exactly that.

Some of you people think we can just wave a wand and make that happen. Quit living in a fantasyland.

Wow.... do you even think before posting???
Who do you think will be going into these sanctuary cities and elsewhere and removing illegals???
Yogi Bear???

And where will all the illegals be held while they await their "due process"????
At the local mayors house?

And how will they be deported???
Set afloat in the Gulf of America?

Your an idiot! It's folks like you who lack critical thinking skills and any sense of logic fault we're having to deal with shite.
