If Marie Yovanovitch was so terrible why did Trump keep her around until May of this year?

He could have fired her anytime he wanted but she was there until May 20th, 2019.

Presidents can release ambassadors from their duty any time they want to.

It’s also pretty obvious you don’t know dick about how the state Department or the hiring or firing of ambassadors goes.

It was around that time he started getting reports from State dept folks that she was talking shite on him.

There are also articles reporting she was refusing to let state dept access documents pertaining to 2016 election interference

But the Dem supporters would never know any of this because the media hides the actual facts.

28 months into his presidency

He seems to have an awful lot of terrible things to say about someone that he let stick around that long

He should have fired every ambassador upon taking office.

Just like Obama.

This is the one downside of electing someone with few connections. Very difficult to make sweeping changes. Especially when people recommended to you are not on board with your policies.

I'd bet Preibus was a huge factor in this.

With all due respect, the executive branch and their purview is pretty massive. There have been a lot of people fired, and in D.C. with experience, even less quality loyal candidates.

Pro tip, I imagine there would be a lot more people fired if he had candidates he trusted to take those spots

Obama fired every one of Bush's ambassadors immediately

What priority would you give to an ambassador in relation to everything else the guy had going on? You are a sad troll.

Probably doesn't pay attention to every little employee under him until they start talking trash about him. Then they get his attention. And find themselves fired.

And Obama was demonstratively hands down the worst foreign policy resident this country has seen in generations. He makes Bush look like Kissinger

And if Trump had done that, one of them would have sued and a judge in Hawaii would find that Trump didn't have the authority to do that or that he didn't give a good enough reason or some other such nonsense.

He seems pretty hot and bothered by her now

I don't think he was "too busy" to fire her over the last 2 years and change. But if that's what you want to believe go for it.

Because she is a bag of shite, so I take over a business I should instantly fire everyone no matter what?
