Will the Senate be able to compel the whistleblower to testify, since the Repubs control?

Don’t know what the process is

McConnell could literally call Obama if he wanted to. He could literally hold Warren, Sanders, Booker, Klobucher, and Harris hostage Monday - Friday 8AM - 6PM every day in 2020 through the primaries and effectively kill all of their candidacies.

This is why I still maintain that there is zero chance that Pelosi ever allows a vote in the House and cedes control of this mess to Mitch. I have about $4,000 invested in this theory on PredictIt markets to win about $12,000. I'm betting there will never be an impeachment.

The risk is that the House Dems and the Senate GOPe could strike a deal before control is ceded to McConnell.

(It doesn't look like this is happening, BTW. If it was going to happen, it would have been something like (GOP may call witnesses to House hearings and in return McConnell will not hold DEM presidential candidates hostage and will run the senate trial "normally")

If this happened, it would be the GOPe voluntarily passing on a checkmate scenario, letting Pelosi out of a dead end situation, and hanging President Trump out to dry.

If this happens - if McConnell waives his right to have full control over an eventual Senate trial that's when we start to stockpile ammo and start to polish our boots, fellow Patriots. We'll be headed to chaos.

I think that if this scenario WAS going to happen it would have happened already.

I am not entirely sure but I would think they would have to have a successful vote before this happens. This pile of steaming shite should be dead on arrival. Graham has said w/o the WB it is dead on arrival in his threat he confuses things. But will they continue on so they can all put the albatross "I" word around Trump's neck to try to hurt him just enough that he loses re-election?

I don't trust the GOPe. They may love the full blown communism to come to continue the gravy train.

We shall see. I just hope these imbeciles don't cause the stock market any harm tomorrow.

One last thought - even if there were 20 GOP Senators already willing to vote to convict Trump and everybody knew it (even if Sasse and Romney went on Meet the Press and said it was the case), my understanding is that as long as he remained loyal, Mitch McConnell alone still would hold the power to shield Trump from this nightmare scenario happening through his almighty control of the Senate hearings.

This. I want him to call the fuxking janitor to testify on whether he ever saw a Ukranian person walk in the White House unattended, then being in genealogy experts to confirm just what a ukranian may look like. They want a circus? We can lock down every senator 10 hours a day, 6 days a week in silence until election day.

People talk about the republican proceedings in the senate holding the democrat candidates hostage as if Pelosi doesn’t want it.

Think about it this way. The two most avowed socialists would be crippled. They’ve got a groundswell that upsets the “moderate” control of the party. That paves it for Joe. Maybe even Hillary. Pelosi needs the party intact to remain in power.

Are you really scared of Joe Biden?

We should all be PRAYING that that corrupt, senile, quick triggered old pervert is the nominee and has to spend the next 12 months trying to keep even 1/3 the schedule that Trump keeps.

No lol. Not my point by any means. Joe is a slap dick. I’m saying she’s scared that warren is too far left and can’t win a general and will fracture the party.

Keeping her from competing is in Pelosi’s interest.

the whistleblower is completely irrelevant in terms of establishing facts of the case. Everything in his/her complaint has been corroborated by multiple credible sources.

Repubs gonna deflect, deflect, deflect.

Usually impeachment outcome is bi-partisan. Usually no one dares peep the "I" word unless a crime is committed, not manufactured or created in composure. Usually at this stage this part is a known done deal. Tomorrow is unprecedented so the dems are making things up as they go along.

They usually have a long list of criminal indictments as articles of impeachment. They don't Honest Bob failed them.

Help me out. The Senate functions as jurors in this case and Roberts as the judge. The House Ds are the prosecutors and I suspect the House R's are the defense. But the Senate does not call anybody. Tell me if I'm wrong you impeachment experts.

If this goes to the Senate, it’s game over. Say what you will about McConnell, but he’s a master political tactician. He bet the White House on Scalia’s SCOTUS seat and won. He’s gotten a record number of judicial picks confirmed. He knows how to work the Senate.

I read somewhere tonight that Burr, the pricke Senator from NC is expecting a 6 to eight week Senate trial six days a week for about seven or eight hours a day. Yeah I think I read this sourced to Conservative Treehouse. Sundance at CTH suggested the fix is in to remove Trump and replace with Pence and Nikki as VP. Now I'm about as sick of Sundance after these three years as I am of impeachment talk. But he said the fix is in.

Newt Gingrich said they should put out a list of witnesses with the first 3 being Hunter Biden, Joe Biden and the whistleblower. He said it would shut this show down.
