I know one person who is a pilot ... ie he's in a closed space a lot.

I also know 50+ people in a facility that are positive and 10 dead. But again, it's a nursing home and closed spaces.

Hey look, let's take this all the way and look at covid deaths per million over GDP per capita.

LINK

Huh. Crazy how not a single country with GDP per capita under $10k has had more than 35 covid deaths per million, isn't it? Also every single country with more than 100 covid deaths per million has GDP per capita over $25k.

There is a very clear trend here. The richer the country, the more covid deaths per million.

Rich people are at high risk! Alert the media!

Rather than parodying yourself, why don't you think about what might be behind these data.

Certainly, healthcare systems/reporting procedures could explain some of it. But do you realize that it's been known for a long time that 3rd world populations have stronger immune systems than the first world? Does that make sense to you? - it should. It should be obvious.

Ever hear the saying, "your immune system is made, not born?"

Just to be clear, are you suggesting that the covid numbers we currently have out of Africa are accurate? And this is due to their strong immune systems much moreso than their lack of resources for testing and reporting?

How do you know? Young healthy people are largely asymptomatic.

I don't know one person personally that's had the China virus. On the flip side, my daughter alone had the flu TWICE this past year.

you probably do, they just didn't know there had it. Upwards of half of people show no symptoms of it at all

Is English a second/third language for you? - honest question because if that's the case, I'm not going to give you shite for being remarkably obtuse.

I point out that there is a clear relationship between wealth and diagnostic and reporting capabilities. You tried to discount this obviousness by suggesting the difference in statistics is due to differences in immune systems. Where is the misunderstanding?

If you are an average age of 80 with a couple core morbidities then sure.

This is true of pretty much every disease, and life in general. Everything is more deadly when you're 80. We are concerned with the amplitude.

The understanding that covid statistics are currently correlated with wealth is extremely helpful to those who are interested in the truth.

It should be obvious that covid does not actually correlate with wealth. Only the reported statistics do. If you put 2 and 2 together, you should realize that the poorer countries are severely under-reporting.

Covid started at only a handful of cases just a couple months ago, and we have NOT been going about our business as usual.

What did you say about common sense?

Common sense would have an answer as to a means of determining covid positive people that had no symptoms early on and continue to have no symptoms or just run of the mill flu symptoms.
Without this number your claim has little science behind it.

But thats just common sense.

*but maybe you have an answer to how that is factored into your claim??

How close to death were they? Sicker than a bad case of the flu?

Okay, English isn't a second language. Now you have no excuse, so don't play dumb.

No no, you aren't going to turn this around on me. You clearly tried to explain the discrepancy in covid figures by suggesting that Africans' immune systems are the reason for their extremely low case and death counts.

The correlation between wealth and testing/reporting capability is obvious, both in the data and common sense.

Firstly,

I bought into the hype right from the start. I still think it is a fantastic trial run for the next true "andromeda strain pandemic" that will assuredly come along. I think the government should mandate in our country the hygiene regulations and training from here on out.

Open up the country and keep pushing the hygiene. If we can get the unwashed ignorant people of our country just a little better at hygiene and house cleaning then there is no telling what diseases could be eliminated.

Maybe a little windex and Lysol can turn a few progressive leeches into productive healthy Americans?
